SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Wednesday, emotional testimony was read in a downtown courtroom by the husband and wife who were brutally attacked in an economy parking lot outside of the San Diego International Airport. The testimony was read during the sentencing hearing for Alberto Jauregui, who pleaded guilty to attempted murder. Jauregui appeared to show no remorse. He smirked and smiled at the couple and at our camera. It was last October when police say Jauregui came up to Donna Kashani and husband Robert Bobbett in the parking lot. He reportedly grabbed Kashani by her neck and demanded the keys to their SUV. “You put me in a headlock with a 10-inch knife to my neck and you were dragging me into our SUV and demanding that I get in with you,” Kashani told him and the courtroom.  In a heroic move, Bobbett threw himself in front of her and charged at Jauregui.  “As I rushed toward you, I truly believed I was going to die in this struggle,” Bobbett told Jauregui and the courtroom. He added, “You stabbed me in the chest nearly hitting my heart. All the while [you were] screaming ‘Die, die, die!’”  Bobbett was stabbed six times and nearly died.  Jauregui was caught days later. During Wednesday’s sentencing hearing, he told the courtroom, “You guys have made a big mistake by not giving me help. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are investigating the murder of a man stabbed in the chest during a fight in San Diego's Southcrest neighborhood.San Diego Police homicide detectives were called to the 3400 block of Newton Avenue Wednesday just before 11:30 a.m., near Interstate 15 and just a block away from Emerson/Bandini Elementary School. Police said they found a man stabbed in the chest at least once, following a fight at a homeless encampment under I-15.The man died at UCSD Medical Center.Police said they have the suspect accused of the murder in custody after several homeless people who witnessed the fight helped police track the suspect down at a nearby park.Police have identified the victim but are not releasing his name. The suspect was only identified as a 30-year-old man by police. 865

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One man has died after a hit-and-run outside Sharp Memorial Hospital in Kearny Mesa, after he had reportedly been discharged from the hospital.San Diego Police said a 61-year-old man was in the southbound land in the 3000 block of Health Center Dr. when they were hit by an unknown vehicle just after 5:30 p.m. The vehicle fled the scene after hitting the man, SDPD said.The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.Police told ABC 10News at the scene that the man had reportedly just been discharged from the hospital before he was hit by the vehicle.SDPD Traffic Division was investigating the collision. Junior Achievement of San Diego County hosted the Helix High class of seniors at their Finance Park. "These are all seniors getting ready to go into the real world, this is a program getting them real-world ready," said Valerie Hash, Capstone Manager for Junior Achievement. In the four-hour crash course, students become adults for the day, complete with a salary, family, education, and debt. Once they have that information, they use their tablets to plan, budget, and save. "The number one thing I hear is kids are expensive! And I tell them, yes you are! So then they understand all the decisions their family has to make in order to make their life awesome and possible," said Hash. When taking out loans and making other purchases, students see real-world San Diego costs.
