"Whether they're black, white, Hispanic, male or female, rich or poor, we look for ways to protect individuals in this country, particularly children."Trump has not commented on the death of Stephon Clark, the unarmed black man who was shot and killed last week by Sacramento, California, police in his grandmother's backyard after police thought he was holding a gun. (KGTV) — Poway will host two simultaneous Fourth of July fireworks shows this summer in order to encourage social distancing while continuing the tradition.Fireworks will launch from both Poway High School and Sportsplex in South Poway Business Park at 9 p.m. on July 4, the city says."Keeping these celebrations going is more important than ever," said Poway Mayor Steve Vaus. "They will bring people together in spirit and shine a little bit of light into the darkness we've experienced due to the pandemic, all while we celebrate our nation's founding."The two locations will allow for a nearly 360-degree view of fireworks from the Sportsplex while allowing those who traditionally view the show near the high school to continue doing so.However, there won't be any viewing allowed at Poway High School's football field due to public health orders. Instead, anyone who wants to view the show can purchase a parking pass to watch from across the street at Lake Poway. (KGTV) — Poway officials expressed shock Wednesday over a potential state fine after a water system failure that has led to a water boil advisory.The city is now in the fifth day of the precautionary water boil advisory after residents reported brownish water coming out of their faucets on Saturday. Poway has ordered restaurants to close, and is now handing out free crates of bottled water at multiple locations, including City Hall.On Wednesday, Sean Sterchi, of the state Water Resources Control Board, said he anticipates the state will fine the city for failing to protect its system from storm water. Sterchi told 10News Poway's system, built in the 1960s, is an old design that doesn't meet current standards. "In fact, in the more than 50 years the facility has been in operation and under regular inspection by the state, the city has never been made aware of a compliance issue of this nature," the statement said. On Wednesday, the city announced a third round of tests that showed no issues with chlorine, bacteria, or clarity.
