WXYZ has reached out to Lucido for further comment."The teenagers burst into an Old Boys’ Network-type of laughter, and I walked away knowing that I had been the punchline of their 'locker room' talk," Donahue wrote. "Except it wasn’t the locker room; it was the Senate chamber. And this isn’t high school. It’s my career."Donahue wrote that the moment made her "feel small" and "want to walk away from the Capitol and tell my editor that Lucido wasn't available for comment."She wrote that this time she wasn't going to stay quiet and wanted to give Lucido the chance to apologize."I also wanted to make a comment. I thought the comment that you made was unprofessional in front of the group of boys, saying that I would have fun with them, I don’t know what you were insinuating, but—" Donahue wrote that she told Lucido. He reportedly cut her off, saying, "De La Salle, I went there, and it’s an all-male school and anytime we had dances, we had to invite the girls over for dancing or socializing, it’s very awkward for a lot of these boys,” he said. “So if you took it any way other than that. … The fact that they have Regina school, an all-girls school, get together. They do this, and they have dances and they have social days. It was awkward for me when I went to college and I first met a woman, I didn’t even know how to act around a woman."Donahue wrote she told Lucido that she wouldn't have said it to anyone who was a man or older, and Lucido told her he had said it to an all-girls school last week, saying "it was nothing disingenuous."State Rep. Debbie Dingell thanked Donahue for "bravely telling" her story. 1627

When Ken and Kimberly Smith purchased Moyer Winery last year, they renovated portions of the property with the founders in mind. As Ken Smith surveyed the damage at daybreak, he couldn’t help but think about the Moyers. "I'm sure they would also be very devastated,” he said. “Ken Moyer's ashes are here in the vineyard."Smith said he and his wife will do everything they can to rebuild. Nearby, firefighters pulled charred boxes of wine from the rubble. "It's very nice of them to do this,” Smith said. “As we stand here today, this may be the last Moyer wine ever made." 572

While growing these pumpkins might seem like a novel hobby, for people like Jim and other members of the Wisconsin Giant Pumpkin Growers, they take the weigh-off seriously."But this time of year when it comes to the weigh-off, it gets competitive too. It's friendship but it can get very competitive," he said.Ford recently got first place at the River Prairie Ginormous Pumpkin Festival in Altoona in September with his 2,015 pound pumpkin. It's his biggest so far, but he wants to keep growing larger."Gives you the satisfaction that you can take a seed that big and grow something like that."While he plants his seeds in April, he is already thinking about 2021's competition."Right now my pumpkin patch is already in the beginning of the stages for next year's competition," Ford said.Growing pumpkin to weigh so much isn't easy. Ford equates growing gigantic gourds to raising a spoiled child."And this thing is babied from day one. It gets everything it wants, it needs. It's a spoiled brat - plant. It gets whatever it needs, because to get them this big you got to give them what they are asking for," he said.Ford will put a blanket on his gourd when it gets below 55 degrees, and actually cool it off when it gets too hot. It's a meticulous process but one that brings Ford back every year. Eventually, he wants to break the world record which is 2,624 pounds. You can find where the next giant pumpkin weigh-off will be by going to the Wisconsin Giant Pumpkin Growers website. This story was originally published by James Groh at WTMJ. 1544
