Video shows a woman being severely injured after she pursued a man who snatched her purse at a McDonald's restaurant in Okeechobee.The incident happened Thursday at about 8:30 p.m.Police say the suspect entered the restaurant, approached the booth in which the elderly woman was sitting, reached over the backrest and grabbed her tan Coach purse. Surveillance video shows the woman chasing the man to his car. He backed out, knocking the woman to the ground and leaving the scene.The woman was injured and is currently hospitalized. Her condition is unknown. Authorities issued a "be on the lookout" for the suspect and his vehicle.Okeechobee police said tips from Facebook helped them identify the suspect, Charles Alton Stratton Jr., 50, of Okeechobee. 797

(KGTV) — Vista Unified School District union workers say they are worried their jobs are on the line and say the district could be looking at bankruptcy.Union workers rallied Thursday ahead of a district board meeting over a million budget shortfall. Union President Bill Faust represents 1,400 support staffers at Vista Unified, including custodians, secretaries and food service workers who are concerned for their jobs since those are historically among the first to be cut. Faust says the board approved almost million to add unnecessary 8th periods to two high schools and another 1,000 to fire the district's superintendent two weeks ago. He says the board is spending money it doesn't have."We are concerned. With this board mismanaging funding," Faust said. Virginia voters elected the nation's first openly transgender candidate to the Virginia House of Delegates on Tuesday.Danica Roem unseated incumbent delegate Bob Marshall, who had been elected thirteen times over 26 years, according to Marshall's website.As of 9:07 p.m. ET, Democratic candidate Roem had 54.59% of the votes to Marshall's 45.36%, with 19 of 20 precincts reporting, according to the Virginia Department of Elections."Tonight, voters chose a smart, solutions-oriented trans leader over a divisive anti-LGBTQ demagogue -- sending a powerful message to anti-trans legislators all across the nation," said Aisha C.
