(KGTV) — An asteroid discovered by Palomar Observatory is set to make a pass by Earth the day before the 2020 U.S. election.The asteroid, dubbed "2018 VP1," was first noticed by the San Diego County observatory on Nov. 3, 2018, according to data from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It's estimated to measure about 5.9 and 12.8 feet in diameter.NASA is currently forecasting that the space rock will come between 4,800 to 260,000 miles of our atmosphere on Nov. 2. Gavin Newsom and his family are in quarantine, after they learned that three of their children was recently exposed to a California Highway Patrol officer who had tested positive for COVID-19.Newsom said late Sunday that he and his family were isolating for 14 days following the exposure. Newsom said he and his wife, Jennifer, had no direct interaction with the officer.He added that on Sunday, his family had all tested negative."Late Friday evening, [Jennifer] and I learned that 3 of our children had been exposed to an officer from the California Highway Patrol who had tested positive for COVID-19. Jen and I had no direct interaction with the officer and wish them a speedy recovery," Newsom said in a statement on social media. "Thankfully, the entire family tested negative today. However, consistent with local guidance, we will be quarantining for 14 days. We are grateful for all the officers that keep our family safe and for every frontline worker who continues to go to work during this pandemic."Newsom's spokesperson, Nathan Click, had said on Friday that one of the Newsom's children may have been exposed to the virus while at school, though at that time, Click said it was a classmate that had tested positive. (KGTV) - A San Bernardino County woman is suing the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and state Natural Resources Agency for not acknowledging the existence of Bigfoot.Claudia Ackley told The Press-Enterprise she ran into the long-fabled creature while hiking in Lake Arrowhead last year. Ackely said she was hiking late one March day when she and her two daughters ran into a Sasquatch."I ran into a Sasquatch – a Bigfoot. We were face to face. He was 30 feet up in the tree," Akley told the paper. "He looked like a Neanderthal man with hair all over him. He had solid black eyes. He had no expression on his face at all. He did not show his teeth. He just stared at the three of us."Ackley said her daughter told her she saw two other creatures run away following the encounter, adding that her daughter captured the encounter on video - which Press-Enterprise published online."People have to be warned about these things. (KGTV) - A nun died in court Friday during a proceeding related to the legal battle against the Los Angeles Archdiocese and singer Katy Perry.Sister Catherine Rosse Holzman, 89, died in court during the proceeding related to the sale of a Los Feliz property, according to ABC-affiliate KABC.Holzman was part of an order of nuns known as The Sisters of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The order owned a hilltop property that used to be a convent but sold it in 2015 to entrepreneur Dana Hollister.RELATED: Judge rules in Katy Perry's favor in land dispute case with conventThe Archdiocese intervened, however, saying the offer was void because the order did not get the sale approved by the Archdiocese or Pope Francis.
