Cigarette boxes sold across the United States soon will display a new court-ordered accessory.Starting Wednesday, tobacco brands have been ordered to put "corrective statements" on product packaging that clearly state the harmful health effects of smoking, according to court documents.The order follows a long and rocky road of litigation against the tobacco industry.It comes as a result of a 1999 lawsuit that the US Department of Justice filed against the country's largest cigarette manufacturers and tobacco trade organizations, claiming civil fraud and racketeering violations over the course of more than 50 years.In 2006, federal Judge Gladys Kessler ruled that the tobacco industry had violated civil racketeering laws and ordered companies to issue "corrective statements" on their packaging, on company websites, and in print and television ads. 865

(KGTV) — Police are searching for an 81-year-old man who was last seen in the Otay Ranch Mall area.Chula Vista Police says Donald Mooring was last seen around 3 p.m. near the Otay Ranch Mall on Thursday. Police add that Mooring may be suffering from the effects of dementia.Mooring is described as a black man, 5-foot 9-inches tall, and weighing about 230 pounds. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Chula Vista Police are searching for a suspect following a deadly stabbing in Chula Vista in mid-July.According to police, the stabbing happened on July 18 around 10:17 p.m. on the 200 block of Rancho Drive.Officers were called to the scene after receiving a report of a stabbing in the area. When police arrived, they found the victim, 23-year-old Ariel Burquez, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.Police later determined that the victim and suspect, Raymond Lynde, 28, had an argument before Lynde reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Burquez several times.Chula Vista Police are currently trying to locate Lynde, who is on parole for an unrelated offense, police say.“A parole violation warrant has been issued for the murder of Burquez and Lynde should be considered armed and dangerous,” police said.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or CVPD at 619-691-5151. 990
