NEW YORK CITY — Mayor Bill de Blaiso suggested that the snow day as we know it may be gone due to remote learning, as the city prepares for what could be it's biggest snow storm in years. NEW YORK (AP) — Nearly six months after the coronavirus forced its closure, the 9/11 Memorial Museum will be reopening on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks next month. The memorial plaza had been open to the public with social distancing restrictions since early July, but the museum remained closed as did other cultural institutions. The anniversary day re-opening will be reserved for families of those killed in the 2001 attack and the 1993 World Trade Center attack. The public will be able to visit starting Sept. 12. Pictures on Thursday announced that all of its 2021 film slate — including a new “Matrix” movie, “Godzilla vs. Kong” and the Lin-Manuel Miranda adaptation “In the Heights” — will stream on HBO Max at the same time they play in theaters. “No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do," said Ann Sarnoff, chief executive of WarnerMedia Studios in a press release. NEW YORK (AP) — A new federal report shows vaping rates among U.S. teenagers fell dramatically this year.The drop comes in the wake of last year's outbreak of vaping-related illnesses and deaths.The national survey found that just under 20% of high school students and 5% of middle schools students were recent users of electronic cigarettes and other vaping products.That marks a big decline from a similar survey last year that found about 28% of high school students and about 11% of middle school students recently vaped. That's a decline of about 1.8 million teens total.The survey was done by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They looked at survey data from middle school and high school students, grades 6-12.Despite the progress in lowering the number of teens using e-cigarettes, there are 3.6 million youth who currently use them.
