SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are searching for a man who reportedly tried to stop a woman from leaving a locker room at a clinical training facility.According to police, the man entered the women’s locker room at the UCSD Clinical Training Facility around 11:15 a.m. on August 20.Police say the man walked in as the victim was using the restroom. The woman tried to leave, but the suspect blocked her, asking “don’t you want this,” gesturing to his body, police say.The man then left the bathroom before walking back inside and blocking the victim’s exit once again. Police say the suspect blocked the woman from exiting the restroom a total of four times.The suspect is described as a white man, approximately six feet tall with a thin build, unshaven, with short, dark hair and a gray patch near his right temple.The man also has a tribal tattoo that circles his right arm as well as various tattoos on his left arm.Anyone with information is asked to call the SDPD Western Division at 619-692-4800 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 1051

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego business legend Frank Fornaca died Wednesday at the age of 94.Fornaca's father started a family bakery in San Diego in 1912. More than 50 years later, the Fornacas went into the car business.The family still runs Frank Toyota, Subaru, and Hyundai. The dealerships are known for their catchy phrase, "Is that you, Frank?"Fornaca suffered from congestive heart failure. He was still able to attend his granddaughter's wedding just over a week ago.  493

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego City Council members approved Tuesday a new state of emergency resolution linked to sewage in the Tijuana River Valley. District Eight Councilmember Vivian Moreno, whose region includes the Tijuana River Valley, authored the resolution. Moreno cited significant amounts of plastic, tires and sediment flowing from Mexico into the United States. “This has been going on for far too long and South Bay is not a dumping ground,” Moreno said. “To solve this international crisis, we must stop pointing fingers. This is a regional issue that calls for a regional solution.” The crisis, which was first recognized with a resolution in 1993, has since worsened, council members agreed. The City of San Diego’s new resolution was designed to raise awareness about the public health impact. “District Eight residents frequently experience a foul smell, and people who have been exposed to the toxic waste have reported skin rashes, headaches and respiratory issues,” said Moreno. “The sewage, sediment and trash occurring in the Tijuana River Valley is an environmental crisis and we’re going to keep fighting until it’s fixed once and for all,” said Mayor Kevin Faulconer. “We’ve seen some positive movement recently after decades of advocating as a region to our leaders in Washington and Mexico City. They’ve identified the problem and the projects needed to fix it, and now we must push for them to take action.” 1444

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are asking for the public's help in locating a hit-and-run driver who ran over a pedestrian in a wheelchair in the East Village.Police said the pedestrian, a 47-year-old female who was in a wheelchair, was run over at the intersection of F Street and Park Boulevard just before 4 a.m. Saturday. The woman suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.The vehicle - described as a silver, newer model, SUV - stopped momentarily after running over the woman and her chair, before driving off westbound on F St., police said. The driver then turned northbound on 11th St. and was last seen driving eastbound on E St.Police said the suspected SUV has chrome rims, a tinted sunroof, and possibly tinted windows. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego drivers waiting patiently to pick up friends and family at Lindbergh Field will have a new location at the airport starting Monday. San Diego International Airport is relocating its cell phone waiting lot to an area northwest of its current location on June 24. Drivers may park for free in the cell phone lot for up to an hour while they wait for loved ones to notify them of their arrival, avoiding traffic and illegal parking at the terminals.The new 85-space lot will be located east of the Airport Authority Administration Building on Harbor Drive. It will be accessible via a traffic light at Liberator Way, airport officials say. 673
