DENVER, Colo. – A group of entrepreneurs is launching a new app that directs users to Black-owned businesses.“The app is across all 50 states. We just got a notification today about a Black-owned business in Ireland,” said Mariam Kazadi, the co-founder of the BBLK app.The app uses GPS to find Black-owned businesses near you. Or you can search through businesses that allow you to order online. It is organized by the type of service.As communities push for racial justice, there has been growing momentum to support Black-owned businesses. Yelp saw searches for “Black-owned business” spike 6,000% between June and August.Companies rarely identify themselves through Google searches as being minority-owned, which can make it difficult for consumers to find them.“Black-owned businesses not only don’t get visibility, but they don’t get funding. So, we want to put the Black dollar back into the community so those economies and communities can grow,” Kazadi said.The BBLK app is free for users and businesses. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) — While a hotly-debated gun show is returning to the Del Mar Fairground, its future remains clouded after a recently signed law. The Crossroads of the West gun show returned to the fairgrounds Saturday, two months after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill banning the sale of guns and ammo at the venue. That law doesn't take effect until 2021, allowing the gun show to continue until then."It's been a mainstay for 30 years in San Diego and a small group of extremists tried to get it canceled and were successful for just a few months last year, but fortunately the courts stepped in and said, 'no you can't discriminate against a group based on what they described as their culture," Michael Schwartz, executive director of San Diego County Gun Owners, told reporters Saturday. Assembly Bill 893, introduced in February by State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-78), argues California shouldn't have a role in facilitating gun sales. Gov. Newsome signed the bill last October."People have the right to continue to buy guns at private establishments," Gloria said shortly after the bill's signing. "The state just shouldn't have a role in facilitating the flow of guns into neighborhoods where children are killed." Protesters are expected outside of the show Saturday to counter gun advocates."They are coming back to finish off our families by calling their gun shows ‘family friendly,’" Rose Ann Sharp, founder of NeverAgainCA, said. "It gives a perverse new meaning to 'women and children first.' Crossroads appealed the suspension and was granted the right to return in June 2019.The show's contract runs through 2020.Schwartz admits they don't know what will happen to the show after the next year, but they're hopeful the court system will rule in their favor once again."We believe there is going to be some kind of court decision and there is the possibility that it will be delayed and have to move its way up through the court system," Schwartz said. "But we're very confident that the court's going to see that this type of discrimination against this group of people — that they simply consider undesirable — is not right. "The fairgrounds is a state-owned, regional asset and just because one city decides they don't like a culture, that doesn't mean that they can kick them out of town ... Del Mar doesn't get to dictate who they like and who they dislike." 3252

(KGTV) - Several homes have been burglarized during the past week in the hills of Olde Del Mar.Neighbors believe they're targeted because they're very freeway accessible; burglars can make a quick getaway.Michelle Angles was a victim."We're so close to the freeway that criminals are coming here because it's an easy pop onto the freeway right after they burglarize. We've had our car broken into; thousands of dollars of things taken."Monday afternoon, just minutes before two homes around the corner and a few blocks away were burglarized, her home surveillance video caught three shady characters ambling down the street."The video shows three young men walking along the sidewalk and they stop right here and you see them looking around and talking very softly.  They noticed the camera and immediately started walking away and one of the young men.. you can see him stop and walk up the grass and he looked into a window next door.  So they were casing houses in the neighborhood," Angles said.At the break-in five blocks away, thieves ransacked the house; stealing jewelry, electronics, cameras and photographic gear.  They also left behind an autographed Steven Tyler guitar with the authentication paperwork right next to it.  They also left many fingerprints on furniture they moved around.  The homeowner said they fed the dog, too; and though she appreciates that the dog wasn't hurt, she's hopeful the fingerprints will lead to arrests. 1517
