EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV)- 10News took a trip around El Cajon to visit some of the spots most cherished by locals.The first stop was Summers Past Farms, right off Olde Highway 80. Here you can find a calm place to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee and beautiful gardens."We get people from all over," said Owner Sheryl Lozier. They transformed their garage into their very own homemade herbal soap shop. They also have a gift shop on the site. Hogan said the cats are all relinquished by their owners. Approximately 70 cats of the 240 are up for adoption."Sit in the chair, sit on the floor, let the cat pick you," said Hogan. "The older cats are dollars, the cats under eight, up to about a year, those are dollars. And the kittens are 0 dollars."The cats are microchipped, spayed and neutered before they leave the shelter. They also come with a free ten-day vet visit.Or, you can simply come by and hang out with the curious cats, without making any commitments."The cozy cottage, this is where the lifetime care cats are," said Hogan as we took a tour of the facility. "We maintain these cats for life for people when they pass." Next up was Marechiaro's Italian Restaraunt also on Olde Highway 80.This family owned restaurant has been satisfying hungry customers for 64 years, 46 of those years in El Cajon."Making pizza is like riding a bike," said Owner Joe Brunetto. But, the most popular item is the pizza."The pizzas the way we make them now, is the same way 60 years ago," said Brunetto James. The most popular item is the combo plate which includes beef, ham and spare ribs.Owner JR Henderson has a real success story."I was here washing dishes, I start managing, then I bought the store," he said. El Cajon (KGTV)- An El Cajon Family is on the edge after a man tried to break into their home through their toddler’s bedroom. The family lives off Chase Avenue. Liz Jasiak says she noticed a handprint on her son’s bedroom window on Christmas Eve. When she went outside, there was a latex glove sitting behind the trash bins, near the window, in their backyard. “You have this little person who is depending on you to take care of them and their safety,” says Jasiak. “So it's definitely a sense of violation.”Surveillance video shows the man walking up to the home and lingering on the front porch moments after she leaves to take her son to daycare. The video then shows the man leaving but returns and disappears on the other side of the home. “It’s kind of creepy to think that someone was watching my habits or my moves because the moment we left he immediately enters our yard, says Jasiak.”The family says multiple screens to the windows of their home were cut around the same time the suspect tried to break in. The family has reported the crime to the El Cajon Police Department. They say they will be adding extra security to their home. 1156

(KGTV) -- El Cajon police are investigating another case of someone egging a car in the Granite Hills neighborhood. Shelby Howell says her car was egged early Monday morning. "This is the worst that it's happened," Howell said. Due to a recent rise in reported health issues, the US Food and Drug Administration warned on Tuesday against using or purchasing Rhino male enhancement products.Since 2007, the FDA said, it has identified more than 25 Rhino products, some with names such as Platinum Rhino 25000 and Krazzy Rhino 25000, that have hidden drug ingredients.The FDA said the products are often sold in single-serving packages at locations such as gas stations and convenience stores, or through online retailers such as eBay and Amazon. Recently, the products have also been found in international mail shipments, the agency said.In an email, eBay spokesman Ryan Moore said, "Product safety is important to eBay and we work hard to ensure our marketplace is free of harmful products. These types of items are prohibited under our policies, and therefore not allowed to be listed on the eBay market place." EBay regularly sweeps the site to remove such items, he said.Amazon has not responded to a request for comment."Over the past few years, the FDA has been combatting the retail sale of male enhancement drug products that are frequently misrepresented as dietary supplements and that contain hidden and potentially harmful active drug ingredients," said Donald D. Ashley, director of the Office of Compliance at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.According to the FDA, the "products contain undeclared ingredients that are the same as or structurally similar to active ingredients found in FDA-approved prescription drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction."For example, some Rhino products contain the same active ingredient as Viagra and Cialis, sildenafil and/or tadalafil, respectively. These undeclared ingredients can lead to "significant safety issues and the risk of serious adverse events," the FDA said."The FDA has received reports of people experiencing chest pain, severe headaches and prolonged erections after taking a Rhino product that led to surgical intervention and hospitalization due to extreme drops in blood pressure," according to the agency.People who experience negative health effects or have issues with the quality or safety of a dietary supplement can report it to the FDA's MedWatch Safety Information program. Products identified by the FDA as having hidden active drug ingredients can be found in the tainted products database.Not all misrepresented products are included in the database, and consumers should still be wary, the FDA noted."Consumers should be cautious about using certain products, especially those promoted for sexual enhancement, weight loss, bodybuilding and/or pain relief. Consumers should also be on the alert for products that offer immediate or quick results and that sound too good to be true," the agency said. 2778
