SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Three women were rescued from a Blacks Beach cliff early Thursday.The three women, all from East County, were stuck on a cliff in the Box Canyon area of La Jolla just after 8 a.m., according to San Diego Fire-Rescue and lifeguards. Fire crews said the women became stuck just above the beach, prompting crews to use a rope system to hoist them down."As you can see, even using a rope system to get down to the beach is challenging because of the steep and slippery cliff conditions," SDFD said in a Facebook post. 540

A year and a half ago, Leia Parker lost her life after a swimming accident, and with help from the company Lifesharing, Leia's parents had her organs donated to families in need."As a grieving parent, you just want to find meaning, and I believe everything happens for a reason," says mother Tihani. I am extremely proud that my daughter has changed the lives of five people, and she has given a second chance and new hope to others."Tihani was hopeful her daughter would one day grow up to be a strong independent women. And that is why she named her Leia, after the Star War character Princess Leia."Princess Leia was my favorite Star Wars character, and she was one of my bigger role models. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- There is road rash on his forehead and a smile on his face. "Just hangin' in there, man."Julio Vazquez is in a hospital bed at U.C.S.D. Medical Center in Hillcrest, his broken leg in a cast from above the knee to his toes.  "The pain I have is in my right leg.  Once I move it, it's a crazy pain, really bad. My right rib, one is broken and when I raise my voice, it hurts really bad."It was Sunday night about midnight in Ocean Beach. He had pulled over to assist a stranded couple on the shoulder of Sunset Cliffs Blvd.  The Ocean Beach man was trying to help start their white Lexus when another car slammed into them. The impact peeled back the door of the Lexus and propelled Julio into the air, over his own car, and into the ditch.Paramedics were soon on-scene; as his wife and two young children watched.Vazquez was doing a good deed; and paying a price for it.  "Stuff happens. Doesn't make me feel bad. It's just something I do when I see somebody needs help."Now he needs help; could be off work for several months and people are responding.  A GoFundMe page was set up to help offset costs; asking ,000.    "It feels great!
