(KGTV) -- A fire that tore through a Chula Vista playground overnight is being investigated as suspicious, the Chula Vista Fire Department says.The fire was reported just after 4:50 a.m. at the Veterans Park Community Center. Video of the scene shows roaring flames erupting from the playground before a loud explosion is audible. At this time, the department says the fire is under investigation as suspicious. Several other residential and business fires also took place overnight Saturday and into the early morning. The first fire damaged an El Cajon home on the 1700 block of Hacienda Place just before 3:30 a.m. One person was injured due to smoke inhalation. Heartland Fire and Rescue says one man was found in the backyard of the home with minor injuries. Another person suffered smoke inhalation.The blaze is under investigation by the El Cajon Police Department and the Sheriff Department’s Bomb and Arson unit.The second fire burned through the La Tiendita Mexican Market on the 3800 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard around 9 a.m. Saturday. (KGTV) — Days after President Trump restored Navy Chief Edward Gallagher's rank after he was convicted of posing with a dead Islamic State captive, Navy officials reportedly intend to review his fitness to serve.According to the New York Times, Navy officials have ordered Gallagher to be appear before leaders Wednesday where they will review his ability to remain a Navy SEAL.The Navy will reportedly also review three SEAL officers who oversaw Gallagher: Lt. Cmdr. Robert Breisch, Lt. Jacob Portier and Lt. Thomas MacNeil.“We have implemented the President’s order to restore Chief Gallagher’s paygrade,” Captain Tamara Lawrence, a spokesperson for Navy Special Warfare Command, told CNN. She added that Rear Adm. Collin Green, the commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, “is responsible for the Naval Special Warfare Force. These custom-built seesaws have been placed on both sides of a slatted steel border fence that separates the United States and Mexico.The idea for a "Teeter-Totter Wall" came from Ronald Rael, an architecture professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and Virginia San Fratello, an associate professor of design at San Jose State University -- and it was a long time coming.In 2009, the two designed a concept for a binational seesaw at the border for a book, "Borderwall as Architecture," which uses "humor and inventiveness to address the futility of building barriers," UC-Berkeley said.Ten years later, their conceptual drawings became reality. Rael and his crew transported the seesaws to Sunland Park, New Mexico, separated by a steel fence from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.People from both sides came together Monday to play in a "unifying act," the University of California said in a statement. (KGTV) - A San Diego County sheriff’s deputy was arrested in Riverside County this week on suspicion of child molestation, according to law enforcement records.Riverside County jail records show 40-year-old Sam Thomas Knight was taken into custody Tuesday in the county. He was booked into jail on charges of lewd/lascivious acts on a child under 14 (felony); lewd/lascivious acts with a child under 14 with force (felony); and annoying/molesting children (misdemeanor).According to a criminal complaint, the incidents happened in 2011 and 2016. An investigation began in 2016. An arrest warrant was issued for Knight nearly two weeks ago, but Knight was not arrested until this week.Authorities could not immediately comment why there was such a lapse in time to detain an individual wanted on child molestation charges.Bail for Knight was set at ,000.
