The parent company for Gap and Banana Republic announced Friday that they would close more than 225 stores globally to "further advance its long-term strategic priority of a smaller healthier fleet."The closures are expected to occur this year with more stores closing in 2021, Gap Inc. said in its earnings report.According to the New York Post, many of the stores closing are located in malls.Also stated in its earnings report, the company closed 25 Old Navy's, 87 Gap's, 50 Banana Republic's, two Athleta's, one Intermix, and eight Janie and Jack stores in the quarter ending Aug. 1.Aug. 1 had 3,814 stores worldwide, which is 100 fewer stores that they had on Feb. 1, which was 3,919.Due to them temporarily closing their stores due to COVID-19, the company stated that they began the quarter with an 18% decline in net sales. 839

The National Transportation Safety Board released a report Wednesday stating that the pilots were likely at fault with the August 2019 plane crash involving former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family in Tennessee.The report stated that the pilot's approaching the runway at Elizabethton Municipal Airport too fast and the flight crew's decision not to abort the landing was the likely cause of the crash.The plane then bounce landed, causing a landing gear to collapse, and the pilots losing control of the airplane."Contributing to the accident was the pilot's failure to deploy the speedbrakes during the initial touchdown, which may have prevented the runway excursion, and the pilot's attempt to go around after deployment of the thrust reversers," the report said.Earnhardt's wife and child were also onboard the plane when it crashed.The agency said the pilot and co-pilot were not injured, and the three passengers sustained minor injuries.You can read the full report below: NTSB Earnhardt Jr. Report by Sarah Dewberry on Scribd 1058

The Pac-12 Conference announced Thursday that they have decided to will play football this season after all.In a press release, the conference said the season would kick off Nov. 6 and no fans will be allowed "at any sporting competition taking place on Pac-12 campus.""Enabling Pac-12 teams would be considered for selection by the CFP," the conference said in the release. "The football schedule will be released in the coming days."The conference also stated that they be implement cardiac monitoring protocols for all student-athletes who test positive of COVID-19."The Pac-12 institutions are also participating in a national COVID-19 cardiac registry which will allow for medical practitioners to monitor closely, and gain greater insight into, potential health outcomes in student-athletes," the conference said. The lawyer for one of the women suing President Donald Trump for defamation is seeking recordings of "The Apprentice" from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.Former "Apprentice" contestant Summer Zervos filed a lawsuit against Trump in January 2017, in which she alleged that Trump defamed her in 2016 after she said he sexually assaulted her in 2007.Her lawyer, Mariann Wang, is also seeking hotel records from the Beverly Hills Hotel."We are gathering evidence that will prove that (the) defendant lied when he falsely denigrated Ms. Zervos and denied sexually assaulting her," Wang said.MGM owns the archives of "The Apprentice" and Wang wants the company to hand over all documents, video or audio that feature Zervos or Trump talking about Zervos and any recording in which Trump speaks of women in a sexual or inappropriate manner.Zervos' attorney also wants to depose an MGM representative to inquire about how recordings of "The Apprentice" are stored and maintained, who has access to them, and when if ever they were transferred or destroyed.The subpoena asks for "(a)ll video and audio recordings that include Donald J. Trump talking or commenting on the female candidates or female potential candidates of any season of The Apprentice in any sexual or inappropriate manner, including without limitation any statements or comments by Donald J.
