SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The fate of a beloved torrey pine - saved from the chopping block more than seven years ago - is once again in question.Along tree-lined Long Branch Avenue, one tree has captured the hearts of Jeff Ray's family."My kids loved it. They touch it all the time. It's wonderful," said Ray.The towering torrey pine is believed to be about 90 years old."It signifies the beauty of nature and the history of the area," said Ray.The history includes safety concerns. In 2010, with the sidewalks buckling, city experts deemed it a safety hazard, concerned the leaning tree would fall over. Upset neighbors hired their own arborist. Eventually, the city relented, deeming the tree stabile and repairing the sidewalks. Since then, the tree has been granted Heritage status, giving it extra protections. Still, safety concerns remain. On Wednesday afternoon, a city advisory panel met and the city's forester told the group the tree isn't just learning. It's actually on the move."The tree has moved an inch-and-a-half in the last two-and-a-half years. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The latest ABC News national polling average shows former Vice President Joe Biden leading President Donald Trump by 8 points.But a lot of people are wondering, can we trust the polls after what happened in 2016?The last time Donald Trump was on the ballot in 2016, the polls had him trailing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by an average of 3.2 percentage points, and we know what happened.However, pollsters weren’t off by as much as you might think.“At the national level, the polling was, remarkably, given all things, precise,” said Jay Leve, CEO of the polling firm SurveyUSA.Trump lost the popular vote by 2.1 points instead of 3.2, the most accurate these national polls had been in 80 years, according to an analysis by the American Association for Public Opinion Research.Where the polls did miss badly was at the state level, particularly in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, three states that were critical in the Electoral College.Leve said there were several reasons for the polling problems at the state level.“Polling is a very expensive undertaking and so it is not possible for the handful of media organizations with pockets deep enough to afford a public opinion poll to be able to poll in every critical battleground state,” he said.Another reason? “Some of it has to do with what’s called ‘weighting,’” he added.To understand weighting, you have to know the two R’s of a good poll: it needs to be representative and random.Random samples are critical to the accuracy of polling, and you can look to your kitchen for an example why. What most people don't know, however, is that 45 of the 224 condos in the building are affordable - to own. It's rare for one to come on the market, but a handful do each year. In fact, one is about to sell for 5,341, which is about 40 percent off the median condo price of 6,000 in North Park. The detonations happened behind the home of the late Alex Jvirblis, who died in August at the age of 82. Neighbors describe him as a quiet but pleasant individual, and recalled few interactions. Curtis Technology offers metal forming, cutting and finishing operations, which requires the use of chemicals. A woman named Daksha Dave is listed as its business contact online, and as treasurer with the Environmental Protection Agency. For veterans, a no frills way to work on your game."It's short, it's inexpensive, and it's well kept," Fred Leipold, an avid Loma Club golfer, told 10News.Lauren Gomez first played at the club when she was just a toddler. Now, she tees off with a scholarship to Pepperdine University in her back pocket. "I know a lot of kids come out here to practice. There's not a lot of golf courses around here, so it's really important to Point Loma," Gomez said.More than a century of history sits in the club's soil.
