SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A motorist was injured Wednesday night after his motorcycle collided with a trash truck in Serra Mesa.According to San Diego Police, the crash happened around 6:13 p.m at Larkdale Avenue and Murray Ridge Road.The circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear, but officers say that, following the crash, the motorcyclist was pinned under the truck.After the man was freed, he was taken to the hospital with major injuries to his legs.His condition is unclear at this time. 508

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A portion of City Hall in Downtown San Diego was evacuated after crews working in the building possibly disturbed asbestos.According to the city, construction crews working on the lobby possibly disturbed the asbestos around 2 p.m. Thursday. The city said in a memo that a contractor working on the sprinkler system accidentally dislodged a section of the ceiling, causing it to crash to the ground. "Immediate action was taken to isolate and contain the material,'' according to the memo. The substance hasn’t yet been confirmed as asbestos, but hundreds of people were forced to evacuate as a precaution. Crews plan to conduct air testing Thursday night with the expectation of reopening City Hall Friday morning. Investigators identified a sailor as an arson suspect in their probe, sources said.The sources added multiple search warrants were executed at the sailor’s home and property.
