Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said on Tuesday that she will deliver this year's Policy Address, the fourth of her term, on Oct 14. Before that, 12 public consultations on the annual government plan will be conducted via online video conferencing starting next week.
Chen Fengying, a senior researcher of the world economy at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, said that the next five years are critical for China to shape the new development pattern in dealing with the grave and complex domestic and international landscape.
Cheng said the group has benefited from the policy support offered by the local government. "Going forward, we expect to see a communication platform set up by the local government for companies to share experiences and learn from each other. We also look forward to a broader channel for companies to cooperate with universities and institutes for more tech support."
Chen said the pilot zones have been selected in eastern, central and western areas that are at different stages of economic and social development.
Cheng said the enterprises he served were scattered in 13 locations in Beijing, covering 50 teams from Taiwan with 200 people, which are mainly involved in creative culture, theater, service industry, sci-tech agriculture and e-commerce.
