(KGTV and AP) - Two suspects are in custody in the United States in connection with the deaths of nine women and children in northern Mexico, relatives of the victims report. Bryan LeBaron said Thursday U.S. officials told the family that two suspects had been detained in the United States, but did not specify what role they had played in the Nov. 4 ambush attack. Earlier this week, prosecutors said more than 40 suspects have now been identified in connection with the killings of the extended Langford and LeBaron families who have lived in northern Mexico for decades. Three mothers and six children were killed; eight others were injured. The victims were dual citizens of Mexico and the United States, and part of a Mormon community of about 3,000 members living in Mexico. (KGTV) -- A man from Louisiana died after proposing to his girlfriend underwater during a vacation to Tanzania, CNN reports. Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine were staying in a wooden cabin with a bedroom submerged beneath the surface of the water off the east coast of Africa when the incident occurred. According to CNN, Weber proposed Thursday by swimming underwater, holding a handwritten note against one of the bedrooms windows. "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. BUT...Everything I love about you I love more EVERY DAY,” the note read in part. Weber then failed to return to the surface, Antoine wrote in a post on Facebook. "You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, 'Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!' " she wrote.The resort the couple was staying in confirmed the death in a statement Saturday. 903

(CNN) -- President Donald Trump announced Friday that he will "temporarily hold off" designating Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations as he said he would last week. "All necessary work has been completed to declare Mexican Cartels terrorist organizations. Mark Price, who was a firefighter for 30 years, was sentenced Thursday for sexually abusing a young family member on vacation in Hawaii last year. The girl and her mother gave their victim impact statements to the judge in Hawaii over the phone. The young victim said she feels very uncomfortable when she’s alone in a room with a man. Her mother said she’s worried how this will affect her daughter as she becomes a teenager, and that this has ruined her daughter’s life. “Mark was her role model, the man figure in her life that she trusted the most and that was all shattered and she has trust issues even with me,” said Dannika Zarghami, who knows the victim. Price faces additional charges related to the same victim in San Diego. He will be in a downtown courtroom Tuesday. 899
