OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A man died Thursday in an Oceanside home after a fistfight with a relative, police said.Officers were called to the home in the 600 block of Arthur Ave. at 7:17 a.m. because of an argument between two men in the front yard. When police arrived, they found Nestor Jurado, 37, not breathing. Jurado was pronounced dead at the scene."It appears he died as a result of the injuries he sustained during the fight," Lt. Kedrick Sadler said. Police arrested 35-year-old Joel Cardona and booked him into the Vista Detention Facility on a murder charge.Sadler said the reason for the fight is unknown and no weapons were found at the scene. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Oceanside Police are searching for a suspect following an alleged attempted abduction in Oceanside Wednesday morning. According to police, a 5th grade female student at Laurel Elementary School was walking down San Diego Street near Lemon Street around 8:30 a.m. when she noticed a man standing near a dark SUV. As she walked closer, the young girl says the man opened the passenger side door and grabbed her by the arm. The girl reportedly pulled away, kicking the suspect before running to school. Police described the man as white, bald and heavy set in his 30s with a black beard. He was seen wearing a black jacket, light blue shirt and black pants. On Tuesday, the Justice Department awarded more than million in grants to nonprofits who help survivors of human trafficking.Attorney General William Barr, Ivanka Trump, an adviser to President Donald Trump, and other officials announced that 73 organizations in 34 states will receive the grants, which will be provided by the Office for Victims of Crime, which is a component within the Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs.“Human trafficking is a barbaric criminal enterprise that subjects its victims to unspeakable cruelty and deprives them of the most basic of human needs, none more essential than a safe place to live,” Attorney General Barr said in the statement. “Throughout this Administration, the Department of Justice has fought aggressively to bring human traffickers to justice and to deliver critical aid to trafficking survivors. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A 7-year-old was found dead inside an Oceanside home Wednesday morning, leading to the arrest of her father, police say. According to Oceanside Police, the suspect's mother was called to the home on the 3500 block of Las Vegas Drive around 11 a.m. to pick up the suspect’s two children. When the woman went inside to pick up the children, she noticed blood on her son, Pedro Araujo, 27, police say. After leaving the home with one of the children, a 6-year-old girl, police say the woman called 911. Police arrived and, after searching through the home, found the body of the 7-year-old girl. Araujo was arrested and taken into custody, police say. "I'm shocked," said neighbor Tina Torres of the crime scene in her neighborhood. "When I left the house this morning, everything was calm.""It's very sad," Torres added. 853
