After nearly six months of investigations, the defense legal team released more than 1,200 graphic evidence photos from inside and outside Breonna Taylor's Louisville apartment.Taylor was shot five times March 13, 2020, while Louisville Metro Police Department officers carried out a no-knock warrant for a drug investigation.Many of the photos were too graphic to show but those released paint a picture of what happened during the raid:Nearly a dozen shell casings are seen scattered across the apartment parking lot; dozens more in the alcove in front of Taylor's apartment which is where LMPD Officer Brett Hankinson's termination letter states he fired 10 rounds through a covered patio door and window.Inside Taylor's apartment, several photos displayed her belongings pierced with bullet holes: her clock, shower, chairs, mirrors, cabinets, pots, inside drawers, shoes as well as walls and ceilings that back up to her neighbors.In Taylor's room, a photo showed a gun under her bed that was legally owned by her boyfriend Kenneth Walker who was with her that night. Walker said he fired one shot when he thought someone was breaking in.A photo of LMPD Officer Anthony James revealed he was wearing a body camera. LMPD previously said no body camera video existed as they said officers were not wearing cameras.Another photo displayed a letter to Taylor from her ex-boyfriend, Jamarcus Glover. He was the person named on the warrant that LMPD used to enter Taylor's apartment. But, he was arrested just minutes earlier during a raid at another location as part of the same drug investigation. RICHMOND, Va., — Hospitalizations and the number of cases connected to the coronavirus are decreasing, according to Henrico-Richmond District Health Director Dr. Danny Avula.Avula and city officials provided an update on the progress surrounding COVID-19 and evictions during a Monday afternoon press conference inside City Council Chambers. Avula said the progress has recently plateaued, but the city is in a better position compared to other states.“The pandemic is still very real. COVID-19 is real and what we don’t want to happen is that COVID-19 catches us slipping,” Mayor Levar Stoney said.There have been more than 2,200 positive cases reported in the city and 29 deaths since the start of the pandemic. No Richmonders have died from complications to the virus within the past two weeks, Stoney said.Dr. Avula said they are investigating a cluster of cases that stemmed from a party.About 50 people attended the party indoors and four people have tested positive, Avula said. He would not reveal where the party was held.“Now we are seeing the immediate impact of that. I think that serves as a cautionary tale that the virus is still out there. Was the first one I made in high school.” What sets Kelly’s craft apart from other guitar makers is the material he uses.“If you start with really old materials, you're going to have a better instrument,” he explains. The pieces were once part of the deep roots of Manhattan. “Using New York City wood from these old buildings,” Kelly says. “I call it the bones of old New York, because it's the bones of these old buildings from the 1800's down here.” The guitars are handmade of hand-picked scraps of old pine. “We actually have the largest depository of old pine in the world right here in New York City,” Kelly says.All of the building bones is transformed into detailed pieces of playable art. “You can kind of just smell the history back here,” says customer Kelly Wilson. 985

INDIANAPOLIS — A new drug from Eli Lilly and Company to help hospitalized COVID-19 patients requiring oxygen has received emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.Barivitinib, which is used in combination with remdesivir, can be given to both adult and pediatric patients two years old and older who are suspected to have or have a confirmed case of COVID-19 and need supplemental oxygen, invasive mechanical ventilation, or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. "Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lilly has been committed to finding potential treatments to help people around the world who've been impacted by this virus," David A. Ricks, Lilly chairman and CEO, said in a press release. "Today's FDA action for baricitinib marks the second Lilly therapy to be granted an EUA, in addition to the recent neutralizing antibody EUA for high-risk non-hospitalized patients, increasing the number of treatment options for COVID-19 patients at different stages of the disease. This is an important milestone for hospitalized patients on oxygen, as baricitinib may help speed their recovery."Patients treated with the drug in combination with remdesivir had a "significant reduction in median time to recovery," according to the press release.Baricitinib has not been approved by the FDA to treat COVID-19 and studies are still underway in clinical trials, according to the press release.Eli Lilly and Company is working with healthcare systems and governments to facilitate patient access to the drug."With respect to supply, Lilly remains confident in being able to meet the needs of patients under the EUA in the U.S., as well as for existing approved indications around the world," the press release read.
