ALPINE, Calif. (KGTV) — An East County dog owner is crediting a pet psychic for reuniting her with her missing, injured dog.7-year-old Bonnie bolted out of the front door of Missy Benker's home after the door was left open late Tuesday night. "Definitely a desperate feeling," said Benker. The Dachshund mix and another dog, Holly, escaped the home together. An extensive search of Benker's 20-acre ranch turned up nothing. Holly appeared early Wednesday morning.RELATED: Escondido City Council to decide fate of pet alpacas"The way she was acting, it was like she had been through something traumatic," said Benker.Frantic, Benker called on pet psychic Jennifer Harmel, who asked for a photo of Bonnie. She says that helped her tap into Bonnie's energy."I could see what she was seeing, because she was sending me pictures of what she saw around her," said Harmel.Benker says Harmel zeroed in on a field just beyond her ranch, near some trees and large rocks. Harmel told her the dog had been attacked with injuries on the left side of her face and right side of her body. She added that Bonnie was scared and hiding. She said, 'I'm going home,'" said Harmel. That's when Benker decided to open a particular gate on the property, closest to the search area. About 20 minutes later, something remarkable happened. Benker says doggie prints showed Bonnie had walked straight past the gate and onto the back patio. RELATED: Why more employers are offering discounted veterinary care"Relief was the biggest thing. Air New Zealand gets regular kudos for innovating everything from in-flight services to safety videos, its funky films featuring Hobbits and other famous Kiwis. And now, for the fifth consecutive year, the carrier has come out on top in the annual Airline Excellence Awards, created by Australia-based aviation safety and product rating agency AirlineRatings.Celebrating the best in the aviation industry -- from budget operators to culinary champions -- the awards named Air New Zealand as Airline of the Year for 2018."Air New Zealand came out number one -- or equal first -- in all of our audit criteria, which is an exceptional performance," the AirlineRatings judging panel said.In-flight productThe awards take into account four major international industry and government safety audits as well as fleet age, passenger reviews, profitability, investment ratings and key product offerings."We also look to see if the airline is an innovator trying new things to improve the passenger experience," says Geoffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief of AirlineRatings.com.In the premium stakes, Singapore Airlines took top spot for First Class -- the airline's name being "synonymous with excellence of in-flight product," according to AirlineRatings.Best Business Class went to Virgin Australia for the second consecutive year -- Virgin's "The Business" suite is a luxurious offering -- unrivaled by other executive options.AirlineRatings also reviewed the economy options -- Air New Zealand won Best Premium Economy, whilst Best Economy went to Korean Air in recognition of its spacious seats."Our editorial team places significant importance on premium economy on a long-haul airline," says Thomas. "It is without doubt the best value proposition for the passenger and airline.Australian airline Qantas also had a good run, winning Best Catering, Best Lounges and Best Domestic Class.Seven-star safetyAlongside the Airline Excellence Award winners, AirlineRatings announced its Top 10 airlines for 2018.The carriers named in the round-up have a seven-star safety rating and have demonstrated their innovation, according to AirlineRatings.''Whether number one or number 10 these airlines are the best of the best -- the elite in aviation," the judging team commented. AKRON, Ohio — One couple is accusing a haunted house in Akron, Ohio of subjecting patrons to a mock rape scene without asking their permission or having them sign a waiver."There was a man in a mask standing over my boyfriend, my boyfriend was on the edge and he was being pushed down," said Sarah Lelonek."She comes over and yells, 'Stop, what are you doing? That's my boyfriend,' " said Lelonek's boyfriend Ryan Carr. "'Not anymore, he's mine now I'm going to rape him' and then he started thrusting against me."The couple says this all went down at the Akron Fright Fest, which is housed on the Kim Tam Park property. They say this is not the special haunted house where you had to sign a waiver to enter, although they do offer a haunted house like that on the property. Lelonek and Carr aren't the only ones complaining about this rape scenario. One Facebook user wrote "It was 100 percent a rape scene," and someone else said, "They did have a mock rape scene in one of the houses."A different viewer sent WEWS television station reporters a private Facebook message and wrote, "They grabbed my ankles and shins and pulled my legs apart and was thrusting while telling me to scream papa."WEWS reached out to the haunted house manager over Facebook, but he did not respond to the message. The owner of the property said he would have the manager contact us. That same manager who did not respond wrote online "the issue has been resolved.""In all the years I've been going to haunted houses, I have never seen anything like that, ever," said Lelonek. 1597
About 30,000 doses of an experimental coronavirus treatment are shipping out Tuesday. It's Regeneron's antibody cocktail that got an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over the weekend. It’s also the same treatment President Donald Trump got last month.Patients who are diagnosed early with COVID-19 may be eligible. The goal is to keep them from getting sicker, so they don't have to go to the hospital. But the treatment still needs to be given through an IV.“The challenge is there has to be a place to administer it, so a place where you can have COVID patients in an infusion setting where they can be treated and monitored. This is not straight-forward,” said Dr. Helen Boucher, Chief of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Tufts Medical Center.Any transfusion centers administering the IV will charge for those services.“The medicine itself is paid for by the government right now under the emergency use authorization. Those other charges have to be managed and they'll be managed by insurance, Medicare or Medicaid,” said Boucher. It's unclear if patients will need to request the treatment or if doctors will choose who to prescribe it to.In trying to get it to areas that need it most, the federal government will work with states on distribution. The problem is everywhere is seeing spikes right now.“We know that at least for 2020, the supply is going to be very low, so many of us in the infectious disease community and all the health care community are concerned that this resource will be allocated in an equitable way,” said Boucher. After this initial rollout, Regeneron says it expects to have 80,000 doses ready by the end of the month, 200,000 by the first week of January, and then 300,000 by the end of that month. 1796
