Six Flags says it will pause its paid advertisements on social media platforms to ensure the platforms are devoid of hate speech and harmful content.Six Flags joins numerous companies who have also paused their ads for similar reasons, including Starbucks, Unilever, the European consumer-goods giant; Coca-Cola; Verizon and dozens of smaller companies.The company says it will take time to reassess internal policies and re-evaluate external partners.Last week, facing mounting pressure from advertisers, Facebook said they would flag all “newsworthy” posts from politicians that break its rules, including those from President Donald Trump. Facebook will also ban false claims intended to discourage voting, such as stories about federal agents checking legal status at polling places. LOUIS -- The U.S. Coast Guard has referred the investigation into last month’s deadly sinking of a Missouri tourist boat to federal prosecutors.The accident occurred July 19 at Table Rock Lake near Branson, Missouri. An amphibious duck boat sank amid strong winds, killing 16 passengers and a crew member. Fourteen people survived.Nine of those victims were from on Indianapolis family. Tia Coleman and her nephew, Donovan were the only two members of their family to survive. The legal team for the Coleman family says it “supports the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Board of Investigation referral to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Western Missouri for criminal investigation." Adding, "All those who continue to grieve  support holding fully accountable those responsible for making the deadly decisions that resulted in the catastrophe.”Several investigations are still underway from the National Transportation Safety Board, the Coast Guard and the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.The duck boat attraction owner, Ripley Entertainment, says it is cooperating with the investigations. 1115

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday that he supports President Donald Trump's decision to contest the results of the 2020 presidential election, despite there being little evidence of widespread voter fraud.In a speech on the Senate floor, McConnell said Trump should be given the right to exhaust his legal options to challenge election results before conceding to Biden."We have the system in place to consider concerns, and President Trump is 100% within his rights to look into allegations of irregularities and weigh his legal options," McConnell said.McConnell's statements Monday signal that top Republican leadership will back the Trump administration's decision to continue to challenge the 2020 electoral process, despite there being little evidence of widespread fraud.The Trump administration has filed lawsuits in states in which he's projected to lose or which are still too close to call, including Arizona, Michigan and Pennsylvania. While the Trump legal team has scored a few minor victories, they have so far not won a lawsuit that would alter the outcome of the race.So far, no one in top Republican party leadership has reached across the aisle to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden on projected victory.
