South Floridians breathed a collective sigh of relief on Sunday as Tropical Storm Isaias made a minimal impact as it traveled up the state's east coast.Once a hurricane, Isaias weakened into a tropical storm as it made landfall over the Bahamas on Saturday. And while the storm brought heavy rain, wind and storm surge to the Sunshine State, it never officially made landfall.Scripps station WPTV in Palm Beach reports that Tropical Storm Isaias caused some power outages in the area and caused rip tides off area beaches, but spared the region of major damage.Now, Isaias has its sights set on the Carolinas. In a 5 a.m. update on Monday, the National Hurricane Center said that the storm is expected to regain hurricane strength before reaching the Carolina coast early Tuesday morning. The agency said coastal areas near the North and South Carolina border could see "life-threatening storm surge."Isaias is also expected to bring flash-flood-causing rains to the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic through the early part of this week. Saudi authorities have so far maintained that Khashoggi left the consulate the same day of his visit, but have provided no evidence to support the claim.The Saudi conference, known as "Davos in the desert," is part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's plan to transform the oil-dependent economy.JP Morgan (JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon and the heads of America's top investment firms — Blackrock (BLK) and Blackstone — are among the leading figures who have decided to stay away. Top executives at Ford (F) and MasterCard (MA) have also pulled out, and Google (GOOGL) said Tuesday that the head of its cloud computing business wouldn't participate in the event either.Three of Europe's top bankers — the CEOs of HSBC (HSBC), Credit Suisse (CS) and Standard Chartered (SCBFF) — pulled out on Tuesday. Several Hilltown, Pennsylvania, police officers helped save a distressed horse from a burning barn last week, which was captured by an officer’s body-worn camera.Officer Matthew Reiss told KYW-TV that he did not have much time to get Phoebe the horse out of the barn."Quickly improvise, and come up with a solution to get that animal out,” Reiss said.Other horses were in the barn at the time of the fire and were rescued by friends and family, but Phoebe was reportedly too spooked to follow.That’s when the officers and horse trainer Lena Obernesser teamed to get Phoebe out. Obernesser used a shirt to cover her eyes and push the horse to safety as Reiss used a rope to pull Phoebe to safety. Phoebe then ran to safety."She was definitely terrified, the cops were fantastic though, they jumped right in,” Obernesser told KYW. “I saw the footage and I was just in awe. Like oh my God, thank God they were here."Obernesser credited the officers for rescuing Phoebe.“They really stepped up, we had so many people reaching out,” she said. “it was, I was so proud to be a part of this community."After a week, Phoebe is reportedly in good health. Staffers at Westview High School arrived for workWednesday morning to find the campus marred by offensive graffiti, includingswastikas.   San Diego police received a call about the vandalism at the TorreyHighlands secondary school shortly before 7 a.m., SDPD public-affairs OfficerBilly Hernandez said.   No suspects in the crime were immediately identified.   Tina Ziegler, principal of the Camino del Sur school, stated in amessage to parents that "campus security and custodians responded immediately,covering the (defaced) area to prevent students' exposure" to the graffiti.   "The actions of this person or group of people do not reflect thepride we take in our campus and the safe learning environment that WestviewHigh School and the Poway Unified School District strive to provide ourstudents," Ziegler said. "Westview High School continues to be a place whereall of our students are respected and are expected to respect one another." Kiyan Marashi is a Westview senior.  "I'm greatly disappointed; it's offensive to people from all walks of life, especially a school that's so diverse.
