The woman involved in the domestic violence charge against NFL linebacker Reuben Foster said the Washington Redskins' decision to pick him up just days after his arrest felt like "a slap in the face.""I just couldn't believe somebody picked him up in less than -- how many hours?" Foster's ex-girlfriend, Elissa Ennis, said Thursday on ABC's Good Morning America, or GMA. "Like, I was shocked."The interview came more than a week after Foster, 24, then a linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence in Tampa, Florida. Ennis, 28, reported that Foster pushed and slapped her during an encounter on November 24 at a hotel, police said.Ennis' attorney, Adante Pointer, released photos of Ennis' injuries after the assault."After having endured this relationship and then watching her name be tarnished in the press and then watching this person, from her perspective, go unpunished, she wanted to make sure that her side of the story got out," Pointer said.Ennis told GMA it was the third time an incident like this one had happened, including a February case in Los Gatos, California, that resulted in a criminal charge against Foster that was later dismissed and another occasion in October when "neighbors called the police."CNN reached out Thursday to Foster for comment. The view from the airplane window just got a little bit weirder -- or at least it did over Ireland.Several airborne sightings of at least one "very bright" unidentified flying object were seen last Friday, according to air traffic control audio logs.Chatter between airline pilots and Irish air traffic control focused briefly on the sightings, with at least four aviators confirming that they'd seen the phenomenon.The exchange began when one pilot asked Shannon air traffic control if there was nearby military activity. When the air traffic controller replied in the negative, the pilot said that she had seen something moving "so fast.""It came up on our left hand side (rapidly veered) to the north, we saw a bright light and it just disappeared at a very high speed ... we were just wondering. We didn't think it was a likely collision course .. The U.S. Marine Corps says it has lifted a "shelter-in-place" order at the Air Ground Combat Center (AGCC) in Twentynine Palms, California following earlier reports of an "active shooter."According to a statement from the Marines, the order was enacted when an "individual" suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the base at about 8:30 a.m. PT. No other injuries were reported. The person who fired the gun has been transported to a local medical center for treatment.The Marines say they are investigating.Shortly after 8:30 a.m., the Marines tweeted that they were "aware of reports" of an active shooter at the AGCC. Later, both KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, California and KTTV-TV in Los Angeles reported — citing a base spokesperson — that a suspect had been taken into custody and that there were no reports of injuries. The video streaming service Netflix has been indicted by a grand jury in Texas over the film “Cuties,” alleging the company used “lewd” images."Cuties" is a French film that follows the story of an 11-year-old Senegalese immigrant in France who rebels against her family's Muslim traditions and joins a free-spirited dance crew.The film, directed by Ma?mouna Doucouré and originally called “Mignonnes”, won a directing award at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.A Tyler County, Texas grand jury moved to return an indictment against Netflix last month, according to multiple media reports.The complaint alleges Netflix knowingly promoted visual material which “depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or public area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual material was created, which appeals to the prurient interest in sex, and has no serious, literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.”In response, Netflix stated “‘Cuties’ is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children,” according to a statement in Deadline. “This charge is without merit and we stand by the film.”Netflix was reportedly served a summons October 1.Earlier this summer Netflix was forced to apologize for what they called “inappropriate art work” used to promote the movie on their service.The main image Netflix originally used shows the four lead actresses, all girls, wearing black and turquoise dance outfits revealing their stomachs and most of their legs, while posed mid-dance.The images used in France for the film show the girls walking down the street holding shopping bags.The film is recommended for 16+, according to Netflix. The Women’s National Basketball Association plans to pay respect to Vanessa Guillen in their upcoming 2020 season.The WNBA and the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) announced the launch of a new platform, The Justice Movement, and the creation of the WNBA/WNBPA Social Justice Council.The mission of the Social Justice Council is to be a driving force of necessary and continuing conversations about race, voting rights, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and gun control amongst other important societal issues.The WNBA will begin its season in late July with a weekend of competition centered around the Black Lives Matter movement, during which teams will wear special uniforms to seek justice for the women and girls, including Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor, Vanessa Guillen and many more who have been the forgotten victims of police brutality and racial violence.Throughout the season, players will wear Nike-branded warm-up shirts that display “Black Lives Matter” on the front.Additionally, “Say Her Name” will adorn the back of the shirts. “Black Lives Matter” will also be prominently displayed on courts during games.KXXV first reported this story. 1170
