Pamplemousse Grill at 514 Via de la Valle caught fire about 10:45 a.m., Solana Beach firefighters confirmed. A witness at the nearby Winners Tennis Club told 10News she saw smoke coming from the kitchen door on the ground floor. The damage was primarily done to the kitchen, firefighters said. SHOREWOOD, Wisc. — Just hours before opening night, Shorewood High School canceled the play 'To Kill a Mockingbird.'"Due to concerns regarding potential protests related to the production, we've concluded that the safest option is to cancel the play," a statement from Shorewood School District superintendent Bryan Davis read.Patience Phillips said her three children spoke out against the play."They protested the use of the word in the play," Phillips said.It's the use of the N-word that is said by different actors in the play."The fact that word came out of their mouth multiple times," said a sophomore protestor who did not want to be named. "It sat with me differently. It felt weird." "When you have students of color telling you they are not comfortable with the word, that's a problem,"  Phillips said. The play is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee. "I'm in show, I'm black and I'm not getting offended but I guess that still wasn't clear."Both sides say they did not want to see it come to this."We never asked for the play to be canceled," Phillips said."It's an issue that needs to be talked about everywhere and the fact that it's being canceled, what message is that sending,"  Zeze said.Both the students and the protestors are wondering if the play was chosen back in June, why did it take until opening night for the school district to address it."The District should have done more outreach to engage in dialogue about the sensitivity of this performance with the Shorewood and greater Milwaukee community.  Moving forward, the District will continue to encourage staff and students to engage in meaningful performances surrounding contemporary issues with the appropriate amount of outreach and dialogue," a statement from the school district said.  2185

(KGTV) — Video captured Friday showed another bluff failure in the Solana Beach area, weeks after a series of small bluff collapses.Kelly Nelle captured a small bluff failure at a site that appeared taped off due to a previous bluff collapse. No one was injured.Several parts of Fletcher Cove were taped off in August as sandstone tumbled about 75 feet down to the beach. It isn't clear if Friday's collapse was at the same site, but the area was already taped off and appeared to have a pile of sediment at the base of the cliff side.In late August, Torrey Pines beach goers were warned of bluff collapses after a section fell to the ground. In early August, a massive section of rock fell in Encinitas, killing three people.As temperatures rise and bring more locals out to the coast, officials cautioned visitors to walk 25 - 40 feet away from all bluffs and not to walk around barricades because large rocks could still fall.Video from Friday showed some smaller rocks falling before the larger section fell onto the Solana Beach spot. 1068

SPRINGDALE, Utah — A woman who was missing for nearly two weeks has been found safe in Zion National Park.Authorities had been searching for 38-year-old Holly Suzanne Courtier after she didn't show up for her scheduled pickup in the park by a private shuttle on Oct. 6.She was found Sunday by search and rescue crews after rangers received a "credible tip" that a visitor had seen her in the park, the National Parks Service said. She has since been reunited with her family.“We are overjoyed that she was found safely today," Courtier's family said in a statement. "We would like to thank the rangers and search teams who relentlessly looked for her day and night and never gave up hope. We are also so grateful to the countless volunteers who were generous with their time, resources and support. This wouldn’t have been possible without the network of people who came together.”Courtier's daughter told CNN that her mother injured her head while hiking and became disoriented. "She injured her head on a tree," Chambers told CNN. "She was very disoriented as a result and thankfully ended up near a water source -- a river bed.
