SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspect was arrested Sunday morning after reportedly stealing someone’s car and stabbing the owner who tried to prevent the theft.According to police, the incident happened around 9:10 a.m. on the 2800 block of Jarvis Street in Point Loma.When the owner of the car tried to stop the man, the suspect stabbed the victim. Police say the suspect then drove to the Fashion Valley Comprehensive Treatment Center to get help.RELATED: Car slams into house in San Diego's Skyline neighborhoodA short time later, the suspect was picked up by two other people in a red Ford SUV before police stopped the three at Ocean Beach and took them all into custody.The suspect was eventually arrested and the other two people in the SUV released. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Texas company has been awarded a contract to erect nearly 30 miles of fencing along California's border with Mexico.U.S. Customs and Border Protection awarded 7 million in construction contracts to Texas-based construction company SLSCO. The contracts include up to 14 miles of secondary wall and up to 15 miles of primary pedestrian replacement wall in California within the San Diego, Yuma, and El Centro Sectors.The 15-mile primary pedestrian replacement wall will include the installation of a new, 30-foot steel bollard wall: About 11 miles in Calexico, three miles in Tecate, and one mile in Andrade. According to CBP, these areas represent areas where wall replacement has been a priority. Construction for that 6 million project is slated to begin in July 2019.The secondary wall project is a 1 million contract and will include up to 14 miles of the same 30-foot steel bollard wall adjacent to San Diego's primary fence replacement project that is currently under construction. Construction of that project is projected to begin February 2019.SLSCO has already worked on border construction earlier this year, constructing new steel fencing in Border Field State Park.The two projects are a part of President Trump's "Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements" executive order, which calls for a contiguous wall to be built along the southern U.S. border with Mexico, according to CBP. 1447

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman suffered serious injuries from a hit-and-run crash Saturday while walking in the East Village, San Diego Police said.The 47-year-old woman was dragging her wheelchair across F St. at Park Blvd. at 3:55 a.m. when she was struck by a gray or silver Honda heading west.The car was last seen going north on 11th Ave., police said.The victim suffered two broken legs and a pelvic fracture.San Diego Police Traffic Division officers are investigating the case. 494

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- After years of setbacks and construction, part of One Paseo is getting ready to open its doors in Carmel Valley. The company behind the project plans to open the multi-concept development in phases, with the retail space scheduled to open first in the beginning of March. The residential area is set to open in the summer of 2019 with offices on the property following in 2020. The City Council approved the much larger original project in 2015, but it was overturned after opponents collected 60,000 signatures on a petition. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman was sexually assaulted by the driver of a vehicle she confused for the ride she had requested in Hillcrest, San Diego Police said Friday.The woman left a business on University Ave. Wednesday night about 11 p.m. and entered the vehicle waiting in the roadway, according to investigators.A short time later, the male driver sexually assaulted the woman.Detectives say the woman was released and police were called.The victim described the attacker as a Hispanic man, about 40 years old, with a receding hair line and a mustache. San Diego Police released a composite sketch of the man.
