BEIJING, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Domestic and overseas journalists are welcome to cover events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in Beijing next month, the event's publicity team said on Monday.
"China believes no agreement could be perfect,......Conditions are already in place for us to reach a good agreement," Wang told reporters. "We believe that there can not and should not be a further delay of the negotiations."
The amnesty deal will see thousands of war veterans as well as very old, young or infirm prisoners granted official pardon, in a move marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II on Sept. 3.
"First of all, the general situation in the South China Sea is stable, and the possibility of a major conflict simply doesn't exist," he said. "Therefore, China is against any unconstructive words and deeds that exaggerate differences and stand-off, and create tensions. They do not comply with facts at all."
Tibetan Buddhism is the dominant religion in th plateau region, where 92 percent of about 3.2 million inhabitants are Tibetans.
