The U.S. government has taken the first 600 American tourists out of Peru, but the San Diegans who are still there say they still don't have concrete information on when it will be their turn. Andrew Palm, 25, has been living in Lima since December, where he enrolled in a Spanish language immersion program. He says the restrictions are tight, and that military officers will question people on the street who aren't wearing a mask or carrying grocery bags, the only acceptable ways to go outside. "The reason I want to come back home is because I don't know how bad this is going to get," said Palm, whose family lives in Rancho Bernardo. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man who admitted to several "Peeping Tom" instances in the Pacific Beach area was sentenced Wednesday.James Wayne Hubbard, 48, was sentenced to 364 days in jail for the series of incidents between Sept. 11 and Oct. 12.Hubbard pleaded guilty to three counts of peeping and prowling as part of a plea deal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A group of women is trying to appeal the decision by a judge to release the 'Bolder than Most' rapist, Alvin Quarles. Quarles is set to be released in Jacumba Hot Springs by Nov. 30. The women, including two of his victims, created a petition called Your Voice has Power. They are collecting signatures to be delivered to District Attorney Summer Stephan's office. Cynthia Medina and Mary Taylor were both assaulted by Quarles in the late 1980s. They are worried that he will re-offend when he's released. "He will re-offend. I fear for your daughter, your sister, your grandmother, your mother, your boyfriend, your son," said Medina. Judge David Gill ordered the 56-year-old's release at a hearing on October 12th. He will be forced to wear a GPS tracker. Quarles earned his nickname because authorities said he attacked women at knifepoint while they slept and often forced his victim's male partner to watch or participate in the sex crimes. Jacumba Hot Springs residents call the release outrageous, saying it's not the first time a sexual predator has been released into their community. "It's become the junkyard for these terrible criminals. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A priest in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego was suspended Tuesday as church officials investigate allegations of sexual misconduct with a girl in the 1990s.Father Justin Langille, 65, initially faced the claim in the mid-1990s for an act which allegedly occurred with a female teenager earlier in the decade, according to a news release from the diocese.The case was examined in 1995 and 2002, but the diocese concluded that the allegation was unsubstantiated after Langille passed a polygraph test, church officials said.Last month, the case was brought before the diocese’s Independent Review Board as part of its process to review files about the sexual abuse of minors by clergy.“I felt strongly that even older, previously decided cases involving currently serving priests would benefit from being examined by the Independent Review Board,” said Bp. McElroy. “The voice of the laity needs to be heard on these matters and the independent board, with members that include attorneys, criminal investigators, psychologists and a clergy abuse victim, provides the diocese with exceptionally valuable guidance and expertise.”An investigator revealed significant new information that substantially undermined the credibility of Langille’s denials, the diocese said. Church officials did not provide details about the information.The diocese spokesperson did not have information about whether San Diego Police had been contacted.If the Independent Review Board determines the accusation is not credible, Langille may be returned to ministry, according to the diocese.Langille has not had a full-time assignment in the diocese since 2013, officials said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A pair of local singers are trying to help people cope with social distancing by hosting live happy hour concerts on Facebook.Don LeMaster and Corey Hable host shows a couple of times a week, singing for nearly three hours."It's just as fun for us as it is for the people watching," says LeMaster. "We love doing it, and it's helping us in our home. He had to miss a gig because he had a cold. So he decided to sing online that night.Now that he and Hable are out of work, they've kept it going.
