PHOENIX — The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee have filed a new lawsuit in Arizona, claiming Maricopa County poll workers "incorrectly rejected votes" cast by in-person voters on Election Day.The lawsuit alleges when the voting machine detected an "overvote" on a ballot, the poll workers told in-person voters to "press a green button to override the error." This reportedly caused the machine to dismiss the voter's choices in the overvoted races, according to the Trump campaign. An overvote is when someone selects more than one option or candidate in a race. "Upon information and belief, the adjudication and tabulation of these ballots will prove determinative of the outcome of the election for President of the United States in Arizona and/or other contested offices in Maricopa County," the lawsuit states. The campaign says they have received information from voters who say they witnessed the problem and that it happened on a large scale in the county.“Poll workers struggled to operate the new voting machines in Maricopa County, and improperly pressed and told voters to press a green button to override significant errors,” said Matt Morgan, Trump 2020 campaign general counsel, in a statement. “The result is that the voting machines disregarded votes cast by voters in person on Election Day in Maricopa County.”The lawsuit urges for "the manual inspection of purportedly overvoted ballots that were cast in-person, the same way that elections officials examined overvoted ballots that were mailed in or dropped off," according to a press release from the Trump campaign.Read the full lawsuit below, or click here: The lawsuit was announced Saturday evening, following projections from the Associated Press earlier in the day that Joe Biden had won the presidency after Pennsylvania and Nevada were called for the former vice president. The suit is one of multiple filed by Trump's campaign in states that were reporting close margins between Trump and Biden. Suits in Georgia and Michigan have been dismissed, and one in Nevada has been reportedly reconciled without a verdict. This story originally reported by Cydeni Carter on ABC15.com. 2188

Police searched early Thursday for a man who robbed a Nashville area pizza chain at gunpoint.Metro Nashville Police officers were called to the Domino's Pizza on Hamilton Crossing in Antioch at about midnight Thursday.  Two employees told officers they heard the drive-thru bell go off, and saw a Toyota Camry parked a short distance from the window. When one of the employees approached the window, he told officers a man who had been crouching below the window jumped up and pointed a handgun at the worker.Police said the suspect then crawled through the drive-thru window and demanded the workers empty the cash register. He took the cash and left the Domino's through the drive-thru window. The victims told police they saw the suspect get into the white Toyota Camry they saw parked away from the window. Neither Domino's worker was hurt in the robbery. Investigators don't have much in the way of a description of the suspect, as the victims told them he had his face covered with a black and white bandana. Officers at the scene told us there is surveillance video that they are reviewing. The video has not been released to the public just yet.  1197

People are planning to take time off to travel through the end of the year, but of course, things look different because of the pandemic.“It’s not just as easy as it used to be to get in the car and go where you are going and have a great time,” said Jeanette Casselano McGee, a AAA spokesperson.First off, AAA says people will likely plan last minute. One in five travelers plan to book something only a week out, because people don't have a lot of confidence that they will be able to take the trip, because of how quickly things change with the virus. Most of these vacations will be road trips and to places that offer a lot of outdoors attractions.“Even if you are going to a national park, call ahead. Sometimes you need reservations or not everything may be open,” said McGee.It's also a good idea to check with hotels and restaurants in the area on capacity, as well as local and state virus restrictions. And there's promising new data for those planning to fly. The Department of Defense commissioned a 6-month long study using a United aircraft to learn more about the risk of COVID-19 exposure while flying.Mannequins were used to simulate coughing with a mask on and off. Sensors were placed in seats all over the plane to detect particles. It found after 300 tests both in the air and on the ground that when someone is wearing a mask, only .003% of particles made their way into another passenger's breathing zone, virtually 0%. Almost all particles are filtered out of the plane's cabin within 6 minutes.Last week, separate research by the International Air Transport Association found 44 published cases of potential in-flight transmission. Most happened in the early days of the pandemic when masks were not required. 1740

Passengers might be allowed to keep liquids and laptops in their carry-on bags at airport security checkpoints in the United States if screening technology being tested at select airports is widely adopted. The Transportation Security Administration announced plans Monday to test computed tomography (CT) scanners for carry-on bags, with up to 40 units expected to be in place at US airports by the end of 2018.The X-ray scanning equipment creates 3D images that can be analyzed on three axes for explosives and other threats. The CT technology is similar to that used for medical imaging. Current screening machines for carry-on bags generate 2D images."Use of CT technology substantially improves TSA's threat detection capability at the checkpoint," said TSA Administrator David Pekoske in a statement.CT technology testing started in 2017 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Boston's Logan International Airport. John F. Kennedy International Airport has also received a scanner.London's Heathrow is among international airports testing the 3D technology. An initial 15 units will be deployed within the next few months at the following US airports:Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI)Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD)Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)Houston Hobby Airport (HOU)Indianapolis International Airport (IND)John F.
