(KGTV) — A double shooting in North County has left one woman dead and a man hospitalized Saturday.A caller reported two people suffering from gunshot wounds, one was not breathing, at a home in the 1800 block of Hartwright Road just before 7 a.m., according to San Diego County Sheriff's Department.Deputies and Vista Fire personnel arrived to find one woman with a traumatic gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A man suffering from a suspected gunshot wound was transported to a nearby hospital with "severe" injuries, deputies say. (AP) — A California prosecutor has charged a high school teacher with several child cruelty and battery counts after she forcibly cut the hair of one of her students.Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward said in a news release Friday that 52-year-old Margaret Gieszinger faces up to 3 years and 6 months in jail if convicted of all six counts.Gieszinger was arrested Wednesday after video posted to social media showed a student at University Preparatory High School in Visalia sitting in a chair as she cuts his hair.In a video obtained by KFSN-TV, the science and chemistry teacher is heard belting the "Star Spangled Banner" while cutting the boy's hair and tossing chunks behind her.The district attorney's office did not know if Gieszinger had retained an attorney. 797

(KGTV) - The mother of a 14-year-old girl sexually assaulted by a San Diego Deputy filed a civil lawsuit citing negligence and invasion of privacy.Deputy Timothy Wilson pleaded guilty to lewd acts on a minor and two counts of unlawfully taking computer data. He’s serving jail time. The victim’s mother, Jennifer Tanis, says Wilson accessed her daughter’s police file 44 times. He was able to get her home address, videos, and pictures of her daughter. She tells 10News she’s suing the county, not for money, but change. Currently, all deputies are allowed to access police files, but she thinks the only person who should have access to them is the lead investigator.She says the county failed her.“There was no system in place to protect my daughter, her story or the pictures they took of her during the investigation," Tanis said.Tanis is pushing for change not only in the county but the entire country. She reached out to Congressman Mike Levin’s office for help. San Diego County has said they have the capability of making police reports private, but only in some cases. Walgreens has finally figured out a way to buy Rite Aid -- or about half of it, at least.The pharmacy giant said Tuesday that federal regulators have accepted its .4 billion deal to buy 1,932 Rite Aid stores. That will leave Rite Aid with about 2,600 stores once the deal is finished.The purchase marks the end of a two-years-long fight for Walgreens, which initially tried to buy Rite Aid outright for billion in October 2015.The merger agreement faced intense scrutiny from the start, since it would have left the United States with just two major pharmacy chains: Walgreens and CVS.The agreement was reworked several times over the past few years as Walgreens scaled back the number of stores it intended to purchase. In June, the company tried for a .2 billion deal that would have handed it 2,186 Rite Aid stores.Walgreens recently revised its deal again, said company spokesman Michael Polzin. Polzin said that the waiting period for review by the Federal Trade Commission expired last night at midnight, effectively giving Walgreens the regulatory clearance it needs to move forward.The Rite Aid pharmacies that Walgreens plans to buy will eventually be rebranded as Walgreens stores.
