Krewson and the McCloskeys live in a private, gated community.Though the protesters were peaceful and staying away from the McCloskey's mansion, the couple emerged from their homes with firearms and ordered protesters to leave.Various social media videos show Patricia McCloskey pointing a small handgun at protesters. Mark McCloskey carried a long gun.In July, the couple was charged with unlawful use of a weapon for waving the guns in a "threatening" manner. Both have maintained their innocence, saying they were afraid for their lives and were simply protecting themselves.The White House has previously expressed support for the couple. Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in July that the charges against the McCloskeys were "absurd." Missouri Gov. A Texas man has been arrested after police said he was searching the dark web for a young girl to kill and to eat.Alexander Nathan Barter, age 21 of Shelby County, Texas, is in police custody ... he allegedly told an undercover officer of his plan, KTRE television station reports. He allegedly wrote a post on the dark web seeking others to help him commit necrophilia and cannibalism, KTRE reports. He gave two encrypted email addresses, and a special agent working undercover contacted him.The agent told Barter he had a daughter he could kill, and when Barter went to meet who he believed would be an accomplice and his "daughter," he was arrested.Barter is in jail and faces charges of criminal solicitation, criminal attempt: capital murder, conspiracy to commit capital murder and criminal attempt: sexual performance on a child, all felonies, KTRE?reports. 882

A study released earlier this year conducted by university researchers from both the UK and US indicated that climate change is causing more extreme rainfall events from hurricanes, specifically among Caribbean islands.The study was authored by researchers from Bristol University in the UK and MIT in the US.The researchers said that the focus on the study was on extreme rainfall from hurricanes, like Hurricane Dorian which, stalled over the Bahamas last year.“Overall, the results suggest that the Eastern Caribbean region in particular (Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic) is likely to benefit from a reduction in extreme hurricane precipitation events resulting from increased efforts to stabilize global warming,” the study reads, pointing to the Paris Climate Accord as a benchmark for minimizing the impact of extreme rainfall events from hurricanes.The research found that events like Hurricane Maria, which struck Puerto Rico in 2017, would happen twice as frequently if sea surface temperatures increase by 2 Celsius instead of 1.5 Celsius, which is the goal of the Paris Climate Accord.In the case of Hurricane Dorian, an event like that could strike the Bahamas four to five times more frequently if sea surface temperatures increase by 2 Celsius instead of 1.5 degrees. AstraZeneca announced Monday its potential COVID-19 vaccine has entered final trials in the U.S. to test the effectiveness and safety of the product.
