EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after police in El Cajon say she reportedly stabbed her grandmother. The department received a 911 call around 10:18 a.m. from a woman who said her grandmother was stabbed during a burglary on the 1200 block of North Mollison Avenue. After officers arrived, they found the woman who appeared to have been stabbed several times. The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. After investigating the stabbing, police determined that the woman’s adult granddaughter, Elektra Del Sol, 19, was responsible for the crime. She was arrested and booked into jail. (KGTV) - The grieving mother of an accused thief filed a lawsuit Thursday against the homeowner who shot and killed her son.The civil suit identifies the homeowner as Michael Poe, and it stems from an incident in the early morning hours of March 11. Police say the homeowner woke up to the sound of glass breaking. He went outside and found someone breaking into his work truck. His mother Monika Anderson says Joe had a drug problem but was doing his best to stay sober.“He was on Suboxone, a drug to stay sober, and someone had stolen his Suboxone,” Anderson said. “Although it's really hard for me to imagine my son at 31 years of age would just start stealing, but I think he was just desperate for drugs and in a lot of pain. I don’t think he deserved to die over that.”Police are investigating the incident and no criminal charges have been filed. Anderson’s attorney, Dan Gilleon, says that investigation should not affect their civil lawsuit.“The bottom line is Joe shouldn't have died and at a minimum its because this guy didn’t act reasonably,” Gilleon said. “This is not the Wild West. DUNDEE, Michigan — A 39-year-old woman was charged in connection with a fraudulent dog sale scheme.Police said Vanessa Young sold twelve sick puppies to unsuspecting buyers.Most of the dogs were sold for 0. Young told the buyers the dogs were healthy and registered with the American Kennel Club. However, the buyers discovered the claims to be false and the dogs became very ill shortly after the sale – and some even died, said police. Many of the victims spent thousands of dollars in veterinary care while trying to save and treat the puppies.Dundee Police Chief Tim Garbo said Young’s arrest came after a year-long investigation.Young is charged with felony defrauding and false pretenses and could face up to 5 years in prison or a ,000 fine.She was arraigned in First District Court of Monroe on Tuesday and has been released on bond. 860

(KGTV) - A 13-year-old girl cried during her testimony Wednesday against the man accused of chasing her with machetes in La Mesa.The preliminary hearing started at the El Cajon Courthouse Wednesday morning for Bernard Graham, accused of the violent confrontation at Fletcher Parkway and Amaya Drive in May.The girl’s mother told 10News her daughter stopped to meet a friend on her way to Parkway Middle School, but noticed a man talking and yelling to himself. The man first threw a closed pocket knife at the girl before pulling machetes out of his pants, Tammy Brown said.According to La Mesa Police, Graham threw knives at the girl and chased her until she ran into a Subway sandwich shop to call 911. She was not hurt.RELATED: Officer-involved shooting reported in La MesaOfficers found Graham on Fletcher Parkway and tried to arrest him. Graham refused to drop the knife, police said, and officers fired at least two shots.Graham suffered a bullet wound to the abdomen and was taken to the hospital.
