A vehicle was intentionally driven Friday into three students outside a high school near the southern French city of Toulouse, injuring them, the country's interior ministry said.A driver was arrested after the collision, and the Toulouse prosecutor has been called to investigate, the ministry said.The collision happened outside Saint Exupéry high school, according to CNN affiliate BFM TV.Initial information about the conditions of the injured -- identified by authorities only as Chinese students -- conflicted. The interior ministry said the students were lightly injured; BFM reported that two were in serious condition.Toulouse Prosecutor Pierre-Yves Couilleau said around noon ET that two students remained hospitalized and one had left the hospital.The vehicle accelerated as the students crossed a road, the interior ministry said.The driver has a history of mental illness, the interior ministry said in a statement. A metro Detroit restaurant is defending a viral video showing a brawl inside the Asian Corned Beef on Gratiot.An employee told Scripps station WXYZ in Detroit she was scared when things quickly got out of hand but says her boss and general manager did what they had to do.It’s a video that’s been viewed more than a million times. It was taken on a cell phone inside the Asian Corned Beef on Gratiot Saturday night.WXYZ reached out to the customer who shot the video. The customer did not feel safe talking, but we that we could use the video. The customer shared the video in Facebook, saying “Asian corn beef on Gratiot ghetto, the whole staff jumped on one person.”The video appears to show a customer arguing with employees, apparently because something was wrong with his order, before an all out fight breaks out.The district manager said they didn’t want to start fighting with the customer and told him to leave.It’s an incident the company said quickly escalated and they didn’t mean for it to get that far.The company said they told police they didn’t want to file a police report, and say they hope this incident doesn’t put a negative light on the restaurant. 1209

A survivor of the Oct. 1, 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas is using her experience to produce a documentary highlighting the mass shooting epidemic in the United States.Jenna Cook from California was at the Route 91 Harvest Festival with her family when they heard gunshots. They initially thought they were fireworks until they realized people were being shot.As Cook ran for her life, she also starting recording on her phone. Her thinking was that if she didn't make it, she at least wanted to capture what was going on. "It was fight or flight," she said. "How do I get out of this and how do I make sure somebody remembers what happens to me?"She still hasn't been back to Las Vegas since the shooting and says she was also shaken by the other mass shootings in Texas and then Florida that have happened since.It's what inspired the public health worker to become a film producer. She's now working on a project called "When Prayers Aren't Enough." It's a documentary that explores the epidemic of mass shootings with the goal of making sure they never happen again.Cook doesn't claim to have to answers, but plans on addressing the topic by traveling the U.S. and Canada interviewing survivors of the Las Vegas shooting and other mass shootings and give those survivors a platform.Cook says while she supported the March For Our Lives, she doesn't want to put her own political views into the documentary. "I have to be the referee and make sure that everyone's represented and that everybody has their voices heard," she says.She says while many survivors support gun restrictions, including banning bump stocks, and tighter background checks, she's also met other survivors who are adamantly pro-gun.But what unites them is a desire to see mass shootings stop, hence the title "When Prayers Aren't Enough."Right now, all her interviewees have been survivors from Southern California. They've created a GoFundMe page with a goal of ,000 for the project. Right now they have ,000 and plan to do more interviews. Their funding mostly goes to travel and film crews.For more information, to watch their trailer, and support their project, click?here. 2235

A postal worker's union says that USPS employees were not involved in an incident that led to several unopened mail bags dumped in two separate locations in Glendale, California, last week.On Thursday, KTLA-TV in Los Angeles obtained surveillance footage that showed a Budget rental truck pulling into the parking lot of Glendale spa.That morning, at about 5:40 a.m. local time, the truck pulled into the parking lot of 7Q Spa Laser & Aesthetics and began pulling bags of unopened mail and packages out of the truck. The truck later pulled away, leaving the mail behind.About two hours after the truck initially pulled up at 7Q, the Glendale Police Department received a call about a second large pile of mail that was found in an alley about a half a mile away.It's unclear if the two instances are related. The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that the Glendale Police Department had opened investigations into the incidents.On Tuesday, Omar Gonzalez, the Western Regional Coordinator for the American Postal Workers Union, told CNN that the person caught on surveillance footage dumping mail was a "contractor," and not a USPS employee.It's unclear how the mail made it on to a Budget rental truck. Mail coming into the Glendale post office is supposed to arrive on USPS trucks."If it's outgoing, we don't know how it got into the Budget truck," Gonzalez told CNN.CNN also confirmed Tuesday that the Postal Inspector's Office had opened an investigation. The mail recovered from the scene will "go through a verification process and be delivered."The mail dumping incidents come amid scrutiny of the USPS following the appointment of Louis DeJoy as postmaster general. Since President Donald Trump appointed him to take over the USPS in June, postal employees say that DeJoy — a longtime Republican donor and Trump supporter — has attempted to institute policy changes that have led to significant mail delivery delays.The delays have sparked concern that the agency won't be able to handle increased mail-in voting during the upcoming general election.Last month, DeJoy said the USPS would hold off on implementing further changes ahead of the 2020 election but has said he will not restore previous policies or bring back mail sorting equipment that has already been taken off-line.Democrats in the House of Representatives announced Tuesday that they were opening an investigation into allegations of campaign finance violations against DeJoy. 2462
