As of Wednesday, Democrats only controlled 48 seats.With Democratic President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, Republicans are still short of the 51 seats they need for majority control. That's because the vice president of the party in power, which on Jan. 20 will be Kamala Harris, is the Senate tie-breaker on votes. That means if Republicans only have 50 seats, Democrats can control the Senate.Control of the Senate will come down to a pair of run-off elections in Georgia, which will be held on Jan. 5. WARNING: Some might find the video disturbing due to content and languageDELRAY BEACH, Fla.-- Delray Beach, Florida police officers responded to a call Saturday of a woman and children standing on a roof. When they got there, they say they found a 23-year-old woman who was hallucinating and two small children on the garage ledge on a townhouse. Officer Rob Addea got under the window, ready to catch a child or the woman if necessary, police said.“Just get the kids back inside,” Addea said.Two other officers went upstairs and out a window to the ledge and one grabbed the children's arms while the other tried to reason with the woman, police said.Police eventually were able to rescue all of them.Body camera video recorded the actions of the officers. The woman has been committed to a mental health facility under the Baker Act and might face criminal charges, police said.The Florida Department of Children and Families is investigating and the children are in their custody.  1032

(KGTV) -- Authorities have identified a man and a woman found dead inside a Vista home Sunday afternoon.The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department says Della Astorga, 69 and her husband Alfredo Astorga, 76, both died of gunshot wounds.The department has ruled the incident a murder-suicide.RELATED: Man, woman found dead inside Vista homeDeputies said a man called 911 from inside the home located on the 800 block of Warmlands Avenue around 1 p.m. Sunday.When deputies arrived, they found both Della and Alfredo dead inside the home. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The Vista Unified School District confirmed that a student at one of its high schools tested positive for COVID-19.According to the district, a positive case in a student was reported at Mission Vista High School on Tuesday, resulting in about 130 students in the four classes the positive student attended to be placed into a 14-day quarantine. Those students will pivot to virtual learning.Staff members involved in these classes or who may have come into contact with the student were also quarantined, the district said."The student did not come into close contact with every student; however, since this is our first incident, we are proceeding with an abundance of caution," a district release stated.District officials said schools will reopen at normal capacity on Friday.The positive test comes just two days after Vista Unified reopened its schools for in-person instruction.Part of the reopening plan, known as “Vista Classic,” includes attempts to have social distancing as much as possible. The district will allow as many as 38 students in a single classroom, so desks will not be spaced six feet apart.According to the district dashboard, prior to the full reopening, there were four confirmed positive COVID-19 cases at schools between Sept. 8-Oct. 19. 1300
