EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A single mom's heart dropped when discovered her empty parking spot outside an El Cajon apartment. Two days after Christmas, Heather Williams' holiday cheer vanished when she stepped outside her apartment on North Mollison Ave."I came out to go to the grocery store and just stared at the empty parking spot ... My world just started spinning," said Williams. The 1997 white Honda Civic she bought used a few years ago was gone."I feel like a crappy mom. Someone took our vehicle," said Williams. It's Williams' only vehicle. Her kids go to two different high schools in El Cajon. "I have no way to get my kids to and from school. I don't know what I'm going to do," said Williams.Williams also fears her son may have to quit his job at a bait and tackle shop in Lakeside. The car was his only means of getting to work."It's his dream job. He loves fishing ... He's very upset," said Williams.Family members are also puzzled. Williams says she secured the car with an anti-theft gear shift lock."It covers the emergency break and extends to the gear shift. It's supposedly better than 'The Club' and how they got it off, I don't know," said Williams. One possibility: the thief could have loaded the car onto a flatbed truck. Willaims says there are two parrot stickers attached to the car, one on the back and one on the back windshield. The license plate of the stolen car is 3-T-M-J-2-9-5. Anyone with information is asked to call El Cajon Police at 619-579-3311.A Gofundme campaign has been started to help purchase a new car. 1560

EL CAJON (KGTV) – An El Cajon property owner said a police pursuit in March that ended at her property has led to questions over repairs.Jenny Wu has owned the property in the Villa Madera condominium complex on Mollison Avenue for more than a decade. On March 19, a vehicle crashed into her home, causing extensive damage.According to Wu, she had two elderly renters living there at the time of the crash, with one ending up in the hospital. She said she gave the information about what happened to her homeowner’s association immediately following the incident.More than five months after the crash, her property is still boarded up.Through her translator, she said the HOA wanted to investigate. Wu and her son said communication from the HOA and the property management company on the process to fix the condo has been spotty.Dan Zimberoff is an attorney who specializes in HOA matters. He is not involved in the case, but said the association typically insures common area.“When you have a singular affected homeowner like you do here, many times I see the association allows that homeowner have direct access with the adjuster. It just streamlines the processes and allows that direct communication,” Zimberoff said.Wu was one of the many temporarily laid off from her job at a local casino because of the pandemic. She still pays HOA fees at her condo, which adds up to roughly 0 per month. The president of Property Management Consultants said Team 10 has “been told many inconstancies [sic].” President Hugh Maynard said the insurance company would be contacting Team 10 with information, but the company never reached out. Maynard said the owner did not carry their own insurance and the HOA is paying the deductible. He added that they have kept the “family up on every turn of events” and showed Team 10 emails as proof. Wu’s son, who has been helping his mother with communication, admitted there have been emails exchanged with the property management company, but it has not been consistent.Maynard said the insurance company was controlling the rebuild, adding that the City of El Cajon condemned the unit.A spokesperson for the City of El Cajon confirmed the unit was tagged as structurally unsafe and permits will be required to repair it. As of this week, no permits have been applied for, said spokesperson David Richards.“I want them to fix the problem as soon as possible,” Wu said through her translator. No timeline has been given for when repairs on the unit will begin. 2503

Dr. Fauci discusses distributing the coronavirus vaccine to the public and returning to "normality": "If you're talking about getting back to a degree of normality, which resembles where we were prior to COVID, it's gonna be well into 2021. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - The owner of a bike shop came upon a heartbreaking scene: glass everywhere and pricey, custom bikes stolen. "You just feel violated right away," said Jason Guthrie, owner of Chainline Bikes on Pioneer Way.On Sunday morning, he went to his shop to fetch a bike for a ride. "Came around and saw the cable had been pulled through the window. All the glass was here. My heart dropped. It was on the floor with the glass," said Guthrie. The intruder had tossed a large rock, smashing a side glass door. The alarm didn't go off. Once inside, the intruder sliced the security cable."There were four empty slots in the rack," said Guthrie.Four mountain bikes - three of them custom made - were missing, worth about ,000."For a small shop, a couple thousand dollars worth makes a huge difference ... keeps our lights on for the next month," said Guthrie.Among the bikes that vanished is "Mary." "Everybody knew the bike by name," said Guthrie.Painted by the shop, the bike became well known in the mountain biking community and the shop's mascot."Whenever I would go to bike parks from here up to Whistler, Canada, they would know my bike and not necessarily me," said Guthrie.Guthrie says one of the bikes had actually sold online the night it was stolen. If you have any information on the case, call El Cajon Police at 619-579-3311. 1362
