SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — SeaWorld's new dive coaster has shed its "Mako" moniker and will now nod to another of the park's coolest animals.SeaWorld announced Tuesday its dive coaster will be called "Emperor," a nod to Emperor penguins. The name is "a tribute to the Emperor penguins’ journey from chilly, frosted cliffs to their deep dive into the depths of the ocean," the park says.The ride will still be modeled after SeaWorld's other "Mako" coasters, taking riders more than 150 feet high, before sending them into a 143-foot face-down drop and through loops and turns at up to 60 miles per hour. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Six people inside a minivan that drove down a flooded road near Fashion Valley mall were rescued Friday, according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue official. Avenida del Rio, a popular exit route for the mall south of Friars Road, was closed Thursday and Friday due to rising water levels in the San Diego River. A lifeguard river rescue crew was nearby, along with fire trucks. No one was hurt, fire officials said.Police say the car was driven by a rideshare driver who had picked up five women at the mall who were all visiting from out of the country.There are barriers on the south side of Fashion Valley mall indicating the road is closed. 854

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego security experts advise vigilance in the wake of the U.S. attack on Iran General Qassem Suleimani.Former Marine Pilot Ed Rush says Iran's options are limited when it comes to retaliation - but its two options appear to be a cyber attack or a terrorist attack. "We've protected ourselves pretty well at home here from terror," Rush said, noting he expects any attack to be abroad on a U.S. interest or embassy. San Diego Police say they have received no credible threat and have not increased patrols. He noted San Diego is home to major military bases and is a magnet for tourism. Winn said visitors to attractions can expect more screeners when they go inside. "Let's say somebody shows up in our kind of weather with a very heavy topcoat on or something like that - that's always an example used - why are you wearing a topcoat coming into the safari park and it's 75 degrees outside?" Winn also noted a wide range of agencies run frequent drills to prepare for any attack. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Singer Alicia Keys and her husband, rapper and music producer Swizz Beatz, are behind the purchase of a a -million mansion on the cliffs of La Jolla, according to the Wall Street Journal.The paper, citing sources familiar with the deal, say Keys and Beatz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, bought the 10,600-square-foot home that is said to have inspired Tony Stark's Malibu home in the "Iron Man" film franchise.
