SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is warning San Diegans about a mysterious and possibly deadly counterfeit drug being traded on the streets. The department says they believe the pills have caused four overdose deaths in San Diego County over the last 36 hours. The deaths happened in Valley Center, Santee, Poway and Lakeside. “It’s being traded and sold on the streets with the promise of a painkiller high, but no one really knows what exactly is in the drug which makes it so dangerous,” the department said. Authorities say the pills are blue with one side marked by an "M" while the other side is stamped with a "30." The department says the pills are often called "M-30s" or "blues."While the department doesn't know exactly what's in the pills, investigators say these type of pills often contain fentanyl or carfentanil.Anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- This Saturday, the City of San Diego invites all children to play in the mud.In a celebration of nature and friendship, “International Mud Day” encourages kids to get dirty together. First celebrated between Australia and Nepal in 2009, the holiday has spread to cities across the world.Saturday will mark San Diego’s 2nd Mud Day celebration. All children and their families are invited to Crown Point Park in Mission Bay from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.After a successful celebration in 2018, the City has expanded the event to include obstacle courses, nature crafts, and more. From mud forts to food trucks, there will be many ways to families to have fun getting dirty.Dr. Bronner’s Magic Foam Experience will make a special appearance, to make sure no one tracks mud back home.The event is free, but families are encouraged to register here. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Blood Bank asked Friday for the public to donate blood over Memorial Day weekend to make sure local patients have an adequate supply.Summer can be difficult for blood centers to meet supply needs due to donors taking vacations and schools being out of session.“We’re asking our community to keep our blood supply at a safe level by donating as individuals, or hosting blood drives through local businesses, churches and schools,” said San Diego Blood Bank CEO, David Wellis. “There is no substitute for blood – donations are needed now.”   Most San Diego Blood Bank collection centers will be open Memorial Day weekend and there are perks for donors.San Diego Padres: Donate at any SDBB donor center or mobile drive between May 24 and June 4 and receive a voucher for two tickets to a future Padres game.USS Midway: Those who participate in the museum’s blood drive will receive free entrance on May 28.Just My Ticket: Attendees will receive one free ticket to the San Diego County Fair when they sign up for the Just My Ticket e-mail service between May 25 and May 31.Next Tuesday, May 29, San Diego County Credit Union will host blood drives at six local branches from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. 1243
