The San Diego Bike Coalition hopes the event, called CicloSDias, will encourage people to ride their bikes instead of using their vehicles. Streets like Adams Avenue in Normal Heights and El Cajon Boulevard in City Heights will be closed. The event starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. The event will also host a free concert with food and activities on El Cajon Boulevard between Fairmont and 44th Street. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Starting Monday, CVS Pharmacy will begin giving COVID-19 vaccines to staff and residents at California's long term care facilities. On Dec. 18, the first shot was given by a CVS employee at a nursing home in Connecticut."We'll be putting 9,000 vaccinators on the road to give those vaccines across the country," Jonathan Roberts, Vice President of CVS Health, said then.Ten days later, CVS pharmacy will begin its 12-week vaccination program at California's skilled nursing facilities and assisted living centers. The company expects to give the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to around 700,000 people at 15,000 facilities across the state."Retail pharmacies are the foundation of the approach here, both because we are convenient and we're everywhere," Dr. Troy Brennan, Chief Medical Officer of CVS Health, said.Earlier this month, the federal government awarded Walgreens and CVS contracts to roll out the vaccines because of already existing infrastructure and staff. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Students and teachers from two classes at Sage Canyon School in Carmel Valley will have to return to online distance learning for two weeks after two people tested positive for COVID-19.In a statement to ABC 10News, Jenni Huh, the Del Mar Union School District Director of Student Services, said:“The District has confirmed two positive cases of COVID-19 at Sage Canyon School. All students and staff who were directly exposed have been contacted and will be quarantining for 14 days. The District has been in consultation with the San Diego County Department of Public Health.”Parent Amy Berkley said she was notified of the two positive cases on Sunday. She has two sons who attend the school and said her third-grader was in the same class as one of the people who tested positive.“They had two students in the school test positive, one was in first grade and the other in third grade,” Berkley said. “We got the notification on Sunday, and by Monday morning, all class materials were available for pickup, really easy and convenient.”While the positive cases are alarming for some parents, Berkley, who is also the PTA president, said she was pleased with how the situation was handled. Aaron Howe lives two blocks away."Just kind of empty and lonely. You see a few lights, but it's mostly dark," said Howe.Sources tells 10News, at various times in the past decade, as many as half the units have been vacant, meaning they are not a primary residence. I'm concerned you have people making investments in their fourth, fifth and sixth homes. To tackle the housing crisis, you can't just build something you call housing. According to the the real estate tracker CoStar, San Diego's vacancy rate is about 4.5 percent. A healthy market is around 7 or 8 percent, but those numbers generally account for apartments, not single family homes and condos. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — SeaWorld's newest roller coaster is set to open just in time for the summer.The park's Tidal Twister roller coast will welcome its first riders on May 24, after breaking ground just last October.
