BOSTON (AP) — The story of Buddy the Elf meeting his biological father has come to life, just in time for the holidays.Doug Henning of Eliot, Maine, wore a costume to look like Will Ferrell in the movie “Elf” while meeting his father face to face for the first time last week at Logan Airport in Boston.He even broke into the same awkward song from the movie. Henning told Boston.com that his biological father “probably thought I was a lunatic.”The dad didn’t get the joke because he hadn’t seen the movie, but that didn’t stop him from giving his son a big hug while other family members laughed and cheered.Henning said the family eventually did sit down and watch the movie together as a family.Henning told Boston.com that he grew up with amazing adoptive parents, but he wanted to know more about his heritage, so he used Ancestry.com. Through the website, he connected with a cousin who helped him connect with his biological dad, who says he didn’t know he had a son.When getting to know each other, the biological father and son realized they both work in TV. BOWIE, Maryland — Some students at Bowie High School in Prince George's County may face charges for a senior prank they pulled at the school last week.About 20 seniors stormed the school's hallways, taking part in what was meant to look like a school shooting.The seniors used fireworks and water guns and were wearing black masks, according to a letter from the school.The school was evacuated.One student was burned by the fireworks and also treated for an asthma attack.The father of that student was shocked to learn what had happened."I don't know what had to go through somebody's mind to pull of a prank like this in this day and age, so close to Parkland and two days later they had a shooting today down in Texas," said Steve Birckhead, father of the injured student. "These kids just weren't thinking."School officials say the students who participated in the prank will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. 952

BOCA RATON, Fla. — New developments in the investigation into a Boca Raton pet store where authorities say a dead puppy and several sick puppies were found late last year.The owner of Poochie Couture was arrested on Tuesday and is facing multiple animal cruelty charges.Marc Rosenbluth, 37, has since bonded out of jail.Last November, dozens of puppies were removed from Poochie Couture by Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, and the pet store was shut down.Rosenbluth surrendered some of the dogs after Boca Raton Police and Animal Care and Control said they found a dead 3-month-old puppy, along with several other sick animals."Had we not gotten there with Boca P.D., most likely the death toll would have much higher," said Dianne Sauve, the director of Palm Beach County Animal Care and ControlSauve said closing the pet store is a victory.Records show that of the 58 dogs inside the shop, investigators found the dead puppy and six french bulldogs that were sick with multiple problems. Two of them needed intensive care.Rosenbluth's arrest report said Poochie Couture lacked prevention of injury and did not assist with ongoing veterinary care."It is a shame some animals had to die in a result of this," said Kelly Evans, who called police in November, claiming Rosenbluth and his wife were not taking care of their puppies. "I am glad he is arrested now and there is some justice for the animals."Sauve said ACC likes to tell people to always adopt and don't shop. BONSALL, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man died Monday afternoon after his tractor reportedly flipped over in Bonsall.According to North County firefighters, the incident happened on the 30000 block of Cll La Reina. The man was doing yard work when the John Deer tractor went down a steep hill and started to accelerate before darting off the road, down an embankment and flipping over several times. During the incident, the man was thrown from the tractor. The man was pronounced dead when deputies arrived. The Medical Examiner's office is conducting an investigation.  599
