WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States and Israel tracked and killed a senior al-Qaida operative in Iran earlier this year, in a bold intelligence operation that came as the Trump administration was ramping up pressure on Tehran. Four current and former U.S. officials say the operative, Abu Mohammed al-Masri, al-Qaida’s No. 2, was killed by assassins in the Iranian capital in August. Two of the officials, one current and one former, say Israeli agents carried out the operation. WEST ORANGE, New Jersey (WPIX) — A snowstorm that caused chaos for commuters Thursday also left hundreds of students stranded in New Jersey schools overnight.School buses were unable to get to schools in West Orange, forcing the district to keep the children overnight into Friday.Eight West Orange Public School District schools, including a preschool, had students spend the night.More than 200 students in all slept at West Orange schools.Liberty Middle School housed the most students, with about 25 teachers looking after about 100 students overnight.The school’s principal kept the public updated with pictures and the latest information on their students, who were kept entertained and fed.As of 5:30 a.m. Friday, staff began serving students French toast for breakfast.District officials hoped roads would be clear Friday morning so buses could return the students home, but snow began to fall again.Police escorted students home who were not able to be picked up by their family, school officials said.A handful of students remained at school as of 9 a.m.West Orange public schools will be closed Friday. 1121

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A group of bipartisan lawmakers unveiled two emergency relief bills Monday that they hope will help struggling Americans get through the COVID-19 pandemic.The same group of senators and representatives introduced a 8 billion bill earlier this month, but they couldn’t secure enough support. So, they broke the bill up into two with the hopes of passing something as the coronavirus continues to ravage the country.One bill is called the Bipartisan COVID-19 Emergency Relief Act of 2020. It would provide as much as 8 billion in relief to American students, families, businesses, workers, and health care providers.That measure would include additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program, schools, unemployment insurance, vaccine distribution, coronavirus testing, and contact tracing.The other bill is called the Bipartisan State and Local Support and Small Business Protection Act of 2020. It would provide 0 billion in funding for state and local governments, as well as liability protections. Both of those issues have been sticking points in relief negotiations.During a press conference introducing the legislation, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said the bills are a compromise that will carry the American people through April 1, 2021, “to ensure our healthcare crisis doesn’t become an economic catastrophe.”Sen. We all know exercise is great for your health, but a new study shows that there is one type of exercise that will improve your mental health the most. A new study by the Journal of Lancet Psychiatry found that group fitness classes helps with your overall mental health, more than solo exercises. Thomas Obershaw not only takes group fitness classes, but he also teaches them. He goes to Transform Colorado to take their Lagree Fitness classes. He not only gets a killer workout in, but he says a group setting gives him the motivation to put in the hard work. "I love group fitness so much, because I do believe there is power in numbers," says Obershaw.Life can be stressful. Work can get in the way of a lot of things, including spending time with people. That's one of the reasons Obershaw loves to workout with others, because he doesn't want to feel isolated. "When you show up to a group fitness class, and you see everyone around you struggling, you don't feel alone," says Obershaw.The recent study also found those who exercise between 30 to 60 minutes a day have the best mental health. "When you show up and get to release all this stress and strife of everyday life, that's in your head, this monkey brain you have all day," says Obershaw. "When you get to forget about that for 45 minutes, it does something to you chemically and physically." The study also found those who participated in group activities had one less poor mental health day a month and felt a 43 percent improvement mentally. If you're looking to get the most out of your group exercise, team sports were rated number one for having the most mental health benefits. Another, popular group fitness class is cycling. They say the high intensity cardio mixed with motivation also gave great results. "It's easy to stay in bed, lay in bed, but exercise releases endorphins," Obershaw says. "It's science; when you release those endorphins that's great for your mind and it's great for your psyche." Whether you enjoy group fitness or not, it is scientifically proven the more you exercise, the greater the benefit. 2203
