GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Bryshere Gray, an actor on the TV show "Empire," was arrested Sunday night in connection with a domestic violence incident at a Goodyear home.According to Goodyear police, officers responded to reports that a woman had been assaulted and arrived at a Circle K at Estrella Parkway and McDowell Road around 10:15 p.m.Police said the victim flagged down a citizen shortly before at another gas station and said she had been assaulted at her home "for several hours" by her husband, who she identified as Bryshere Gray.The victim was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries, and Goodyear detectives and victims' advocates continued to assist after she was discharged from the hospital.When officers tried to contact Gray at his home near Estrella Parkway and Westar Drive, he refused to come out and speak with the police.Goodyear SWAT and Crisis Negotiations were called to the scene to assist.According to police, Gray surrendered without incident just after 7 a.m. Monday. He was taken into custody and will be booked on domestic violence charges.Gray portrays Hakeem Lyon on "Empire." GREEN BAY, Wisc. — A man was arrested for his seventh OWI after police say he threw stolen beer and meat out of his van with officers in pursuit. The Brown County Sheriff's Office received a call from a supermarket that Timothy Andrews, who was on their watch list for retail theft, was in the store. Authorities spotted Andrews inside a van in the parking lot and deputies say he claimed to have knives and gun when they approached him.Andrews refused to get out of the van, according to investigators, and sped away from the deputies, throwing stolen beer, meat and clothing out of the window during the high-speed chase. Authorities say the van lost control at least twice during the chase, as it weaved in and out of oncoming traffic on busy streets. "Pursuits are always a balance. You're always trying to balance public safety with the apprehension of the person. And in this case, this man was doing a lot of things," Brown County Sheriff's Capt. Dan Sandberg said. The van finally spun out of control and stopped on a residential street where the suspect was arrested. Andrews, 48, faces several charges in the case including 7th offense OWI, probation violation, obstructing an officer, shoplifting and retail theft.   1280

(AP) — An FBI agent testified during a court hearing in Michigan that members of anti-government paramilitary groups discussed kidnapping Virginia’s governor during a June meeting in Ohio.Special Agent Richard Trask was part of the investigation that led to six men being arrested and charged last week with plotting to kidnap Michigan’s Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.Seven other men face state terrorism charges, in connection with the plot.Trask on Tuesday did not name Virginia’s Democratic governor, Ralph Northam, during his testimony in a federal courtroom in Grand Rapids. “They discussed possible targets, taking a sitting governor, specifically issues with the governor of Michigan and Virginia based on the lockdown orders,” Trask said.The agent said members of anti-government groups from multiple states attended the meeting and that attendees were unhappy with the governors’ actions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.Ultimately, the plan was to kidnap Whitmer and "place her on trial" in a different location, the agent said.The hearing was held to review investigators’ evidence against five of the men involved, and whether they should be detained before trial. GRAND COUNTY, Colo. — In the span of just over 12 hours, a wildfire burning west of Denver grew in size sixfold, reaching nearly 200,000 acres and forcing evacuations in Grand County and the total closure of Rocky Mountain National Park.Between Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon, the East Troublesome fire exploded from a size of 19,086 to about 170,000 acres — making it the second-largest wildifre in state history. The top four largest wildfires in state history have all occurred this year."We planned for the worst," Grand County Sheriff Brett Schroetlin said Thursday. "This is the worst of the worst of the worst."Much of the fire growth is due to the weather, terrain and beetle-kill lodgepole pine, according to the incident management team. An incident commander for the fire said Thursday morning that the fire expanded 20 miles north of Granby and Grant Lake into Rocky Mountain National Park.A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 6 p.m., and winds are expected make the fire extremely active Thursday, according to the incident management team.Just before 9 a.m. Thursday, a spokesperson from Rocky Mountain National Park announced the entire park had closed to visitors due to the fires west of the Continental Divide. Air quality is hazardous within the park.The entire town of Grand Lake was evacuated Wednesday, along with all residents north, west and along Highway 34. Evacuees were told to go south on Highway 34, if possible.Around 1 a.m. on Thursday in a Facebook video, Schroetlin explained just how difficult the day had been."I have a message," he said. "I'm not even sure what those words are. Today (Wednesday) has been an extremely, extremely challenging day for our community. We knew this fire was here. We knew the impacts of it. We looked at every possible potential for this fire. We never, ever expected 6,000 acres per hour to come upon our community."He said the winds were strong and as a result, the fire's behavior was strong. They've never experienced challenges like Wednesday, he said. However, the community stepped up."As we drive around this northern part of Grand County, I don't know what we'll see in the morning, to be honest," he said. "But you know what?
