In which case, you’re going to pay me later rather than paying me now. That’s the problem,” said Dr. Silvers.Liz Westin is an author and Finance Columnist with NerdWallet.com. She said just going with the same thing you did 12 months ago might not be wise. “(People) wind up spending about ,000 more a year than necessary because they aren’t paying attention to how their plans have changed,” Westin told us.Other mistakes people make during open enrollment is the temptation to just select the cheapest coverage, but that comes with much larger deductibles.“These high-deductible plans have really taken hold,” said Westin. “That’s fine if you have the cash set aside to pay for the care that you’re going to have to pay for out of pocket, but a lot of people don’t have that cash.”That applies especially to people who’ve lost their jobs because of COVID and lost their healthcare insurance with them. That could force Americans into "Obamacare" coverage under the Affordable Care Act. If that’s you, make sure to apply for financial tax help available that will lower your premium.“And that’s the route, I think — especially if you’ve lost your job — that most people are going to want to take,” Westin told us.If you already have coverage through the Affordable Care Act, Dr. Silvers told us in the fine print it says you have to spend at least (depending on the kind of plan) 80%-85% on pure medical costs. INDIANAPOLIS -- Warren Township, Indiana Schools says no students or teachers were seriously injured Wednesday when pepper spray was released inside a middle school.Medical responders were called to Stonybrook Middle School and Stonybrook Intermediate Academy around 2 p.m. Wednesday for a report of more than a dozen people affected in an apparent pepper spray release.According to Warren Township Schools, a student released the pepper spray inside the building – although it was not immediately clear whether the release was accidental.A district spokesman said 15 students and two teachers were affected by the pepper spray. All were checked out and released on scene by EMS.The school was temporarily evacuated following the incident and was back to normal conditions as of 2:30 p.m., the district said.School police were reportedly examining surveillance footage to determine how the pepper spray was released. 934

(CNS) - More than 70,000 Orange County residents have been forced from their homes by a wind-whipped wildfire that severely injured two firefighters and was only 5% contained Tuesday.The Silverado Fire had blackened 11,200 acres by Tuesday morning, with 70,000 people under evacuation orders in Irvine and another 6,000 evacuated in Lake Forest, according to the Orange County Fire Authority. More than 750 firefighters have been deployed to battle the flames, and they'll be receiving assistance from 14 helicopters, an OCFA spokesperson said.Unlike most of the day on Monday, firefighters on the ground are being aided by water drops from helicopters, OCFA Capt. Thanh Nguyen said.SILVERADO FIRE MAP, EVACUATION CENTERS"I saw several of them this morning," Nugyen said."It's windy, but not as bad as yesterday," he added.
