PHOENIX (AP) — An Arizona family is searching for a U.S. Marine who left for Camp Pendleton on Monday but never arrived at the base outside San Diego.Stacy Wallace says her 20-year-old son, Job (JOHB) Wallace, loves the Marines, was recently promoted and was excited to get back to Pendleton after a three-day leave.She says he was last seen leaving a friend's house in Surprise, Arizona around 9 p.m. Monday.A Surprise police spokesman says officers took a report and have turned the matter over to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Police in Hampton, Virginia are investigating after 119 MacBook Air laptops were reported stolen from an elementary school.Officers were called to Phenix Elementary School on August 17.Police say two unidentified suspects broke into the school through a window shortly after 3 a.m. and made off with the computers.23-year-old Averi Wilkins of Hampton was charged with one count of possession of stolen property in connection to the case.Wilkins tells News 3 he buys and sells used electronics all the time and didn’t know the laptops had been stolen. OTAY MOUNTAIN (CNS) - A small brush fire that broke out on Otay Mountain was set as a signal by a man who was hurt after entering the United States illegally, an official said Saturday.Border Patrol agents interviewed a 25-year-old Mexican citizen who said he started the fire after he hurt his ankle and was left behind by a larger group he had crossed the border with, according to U.S. Border Patrol Agent Eduardo Olmos.A Cal Fire battalion chief said the blaze was set as a signal fire.The fire was reported on the mountain, which is east of Otay Mesa and just north of the U.S.-Mexico border, around 11:30 a.m., Cal Fire Capt. Issac Sanchez said.It was stopped at about a third of an acre, Sanchez said.Cal Fire took custody of the man and took him to a hospital, according to Sanchez and Olmos.Border Patrol agents will take custody of the man at the hospital and begin the process of deporting the man to Mexico, Olmos said. 939

PALA (CNS) - A blaze broke out early Tuesday morning in a trailer northeast of Pala, killing a man who lived inside, authorities said. The fire on Magee Road north of state Route 76 was reported around 12:20 a.m., Cal Fire spokesman Issac Sanchez said. Firefighters responded and found a single-wide trailer fully engulfed in flames, Sanchez said. Crews knocked down the flames in just under an hour, then searched the trailer and found a man dead inside, Sanchez said. The age and name of the victim were not immediately available. Investigators from the sheriff's Bomb/Arson unit were sent to the scene, and an investigation was underway into what sparked the blaze. 676
