SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Lime is rolling its dockless scooters and bikes out of San Diego, a month after a hearing officer ruled the company could keep its operating permit.Lime announced Thursday they would not be renewing their permit to operate in San Diego but would monitor the opportunity to return in the future.“As part of our path to profitability, Lime has made the difficult decision to exit San Diego and focus our resources on markets that allow us to meet our ambitious goals for 2020," a statement from Lime said. "We’re grateful to our team members, riders, Juicers and communities who supported us throughout this journey. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- La Mesa residents and local business supporters didn't waste time rebuilding their community Sunday morning following a long night of violent protests that left several cars and buildings destroyed.Good Samaritans armed with brooms and paint brushes worked quickly to restore walls inscribed with graffiti and sweep streets strewn with debris.Only hours earlier, hundreds of rioters descended on the small La Mesa Village business district setting fire to numerous vehicles and buildings including a bank, and looting business."Our small businesses are devastated and many were already on the brink due to COVID19. La Mesa Village has been the heart of small business in the city and is a beautiful place for dining, events and memories," wrote Phil Ortiz on a fundraiser page.Ortiz'a gofundme page has already received over ,000 in donations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Locals gathered in Mission Bay Saturday to protest a hotel's expansion plans which they say will complicate public parking and access.The Bahia Resort Hotel has planned a number of changes to the area surrounding the hotel, aimed at adding lawn and picnic areas. The plans for the expansion were approved by the City Council in 1994. Hotel owner Bill Evans said there have been more than 110 meetings on the subject.Hundreds of protestors paddled out Saturday with signs calling to "save Bahia Point," in opposition to the plans, which will remove a strip of public parking from the nearby beach — used by many to paddleboard or kayak in the bay.RELATED:  732
