INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) -- Police say two women climbed in the drive-thru window at an Indianapolis McDonald's and assaulted an employee because they didn't get their chicken McNuggets. Police were called to the restaurant just after 3 a.m. local time Friday morning.The manager told police he was working the drive-thru window when two women pulled up complaining they did not receive their chicken McNuggets. When the manager told the women they didn't order McNuggets or pay for them, even printing out a receipt to show them, the pair tried to order some at the window. The manager told the women they would have to drive back around and order at the signboard and said, "Have a nice day," before turning his back on them to fill other customer orders, according to police. The women then began pounding on the window and honking their car horn, claiming they had been disrespected. In the 2020 general election, President-elect Joe Biden beat out a number of formidable candidates to earn the highest office in the land, including President Donald Trump, Libertarian nominee Jo Jorgensen and Santa Claus.Yes, even ol' Kris Kringle received at least one vote for president in 2020, according to the Vermont Secretary of State's website.Every state has its own rules for conducting write-in candidates. In fact, according to Ballotpedia, most states will only accept votes for certain pre-approved write-in candidates.Ballotpedia reports that only eight states — Alabama, Delaware, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, and Wyoming — will count the write-in votes for any write-in candidate. And of those states, it appears only Vermont publishes the name of every write-in candidate on its election results webpage.Write-in candidates received 1,942 votes for president in Vermont in the 2020 presidential election. That's compared to the 242,820 that Biden received in carrying the state. It's also more than the 1,269 that independent candidate Kanye West received, despite being listed on the ballot.Among write-in candidates, Sen. Bernie Sanders received the most with 619. That's not exactly a surprise — the left-wing, progressive senator calls the state home and is currently in the midst of his third term as one of the state's senators.Other top vote-getters included moderate Republicans like Sen. Mitt Romney (57 votes) and former Ohio Gov. John Kasich (30 votes). Candidates who sought the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, like Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (78 votes), Andrew Yang (42 votes) and Pete Buttigieg (24 votes) were also among the top vote-getters among write-ins.Notably, 37 Vermonters thought Vice President Mike Pence should get a promotion to the Oval Office.Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, also received a handful of votes. When totaling up various iterations of his name (Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Fauci, Tony Fauci, etc.), he received 13 write-in votes.Then, there were the celebrities. TV hosts Oprah Winfrey (6 votes) and Mike Rowe (5 votes) racked up multiple write-ins. Jennifer Lopez received a vote, as did LeBron James and Dwayne Johnson. There was even a write-in for a ticket of Tyra Banks and "John Teffer" — though that voter may have misspelled the name of Jon Taffer, the host of reality TV series "Bar Rescue."Write-in votes also dipped into the fantastical and absurd. But now Sears is filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closing another 140 stores — in addition to well over 1,000 stores the past five years.While the company will remain in business, longtime customers are a bit nervous, wondering about warranties for all those appliances they bought, as well as Shop Your Way reward points and gift cards.Sears shoppers like Cleo Pennington have a lot of questions about the bankruptcy."I'm very sad. Very, very sad," she said.So we checked the fine print in the Sears announcement to get answers.Q: Are all stores closing? A: Sears says no, and insists it plans to emerge from bankruptcy a stronger, leaner company.Q: What if you have a gift card? A: They are still valid, but any time a store files for bankruptcy, you may want to use them as soon as possible, just to be safe.Q: What about Shop Your Way rewards?  A: They are still valid at remaining Sears and Kmart stores.Q: Will appliance warranties be honored? A: Sears says it will honor them as long as it remains in business.
