SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — While the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights was sidelined because of the pandemic this year, organizers brought the event's annual joy online.Organizers released a video compilation of the parade from years past for what would have been the parade's 49th annual event."We are saddened that we cannot gather this year to celebrate the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights, but we can see the magnificently decorated boats from previous years in our recap video that is shared online," said parade Chairman Larry Bauman. The Bay Parade of Lights routinely brings more than 100,000 visitors to the waterfront, as 80 decorated boats glide through the bay on two weekends."Let us all do what we can to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and stay safe so that we can come back next year and celebrate the 2021 holiday season and enjoy the Parade of Lights on the bayfront," said Bauman. You can see the parade's look back: 927

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection says officers seized more than 43,000 pounds of drugs at California ports of entry in June.Across six ports of entry along California's border with Mexico, CBP says officers stopped attempts to smuggle 34,685 lbs. of marijuana, 7,661 lbs. of methamphetamine, 635 lbs. of cocaine, 166 lbs. of heroin, and 165 lbs. of fentanyl in June. The total street value of the narcotics is more than million. The narcotics were found strapped to individuals' bodies and hidden in areas of vehicles, like gas tanks, trunks, seats, and quarter panels, according to CBP."These are impressive results and no matter what is occurring in the country, CBP officers remain vigilant," said San Diego CBP Director of Field Operations, Pete Flores. "CBP officers’ determination and instincts led to the confiscation of these drugs to keep our country safe."CBP says some of the most significant seizures included:June 4: 11,000 lbs. of marijuana in a shipment of limes seized at the Otay Mesa cargo Port of EntryJune 8: 43 lbs. of fentanyl pills and meth hidden in the quarter panels and trunk of a vehicle at the Andrade Port of EntryJune 17: Nearly 21,000 lbs. of marijuana discovered in a shipment of electronics at the Otay Mesa cargo facilityJune 24: 134 lbs. of meth found in doors, quarter panels, and gas tank of a vehicle at the Calexico West Port of EntryJune 24: 104 lbs. of cocaine found hidden in a compartment behind the backseats of a vehicle at the San Sedro Port of Entry 1529

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Someone sliced through the window of an Ocean Beach resident's vehicle but thankfully couldn't get it to start. Now he's worried about who they might hit next. "So we look out for each other so the idea that someone would come overnight steps from where I sleep, steps from where my kids sleep, you know and try to steal your car, it's angering," David Levine said.An anger that probably won't go away until Levine gets the window on his jeep fixed. "I put tape over it already but there are two big slices here and then a slice here," Levine said.Someone sliced into his 1999 Jeep Wrangler, but Levine knows it could've been much worse."There's bent metal. It looks like they tried to take a screwdriver to turn it over," Levine said. "So I got lucky." Levine is lucky because he still has his Jeep. His neighbor doesn't.  904
