Toys R Us joins Walmart, Target, and Best Buy in opening Thanksgiving afternoon in 2017. If you had been hoping they would follow the lead of Nordstrom and REI and hold off on a Thursday opening, you'll no doubt be disappointed. But if you don't mind skipping the pumpkin pie, early shoppers  will find big savings on Lego, Barbie, and Disney toys, among other things. For gamers, Sony's PS4 Slim will be marked down to 9, matching the Black Friday price at other big retailers. The Xbox One Slim will sell for 9 (though you may find a better bundled deal at Walmart or Best Buy).Interestingly, Toys R Us is not saying much about Hatchimals on Black Friday.  Last year's hardest-to-find toy is expected to again be red hot, with the new Hatchimal twins, but don't expect a Black Friday deal on them.We turned to our friends at BFAds.net for some of the best Toys R Us deals/Top Thanksgiving 5 p.m. doorbusters: 932

There's a new concept to contraception, and you may start seeing more advertising for it soon. It's an app, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just gave it the green light to start marketing.Natural Cycles claims to help prevent pregnancy by allowing women to track the days they are most fertile. It uses a woman's monthly cycle information and their body temperature, which users input daily. The app provides a calendar of green and red days. Green days indicate you're not fertile, while red days suggest you are.The app claims its’s 93 percent effective if used correctly. That estimate may be high though.Planned Parenthood, in general, claims fertility awareness is only between 76 and 88 percent effective.Regardless, the app does nothing to prevent sexually transmitted diseases.   The president of Advocates for Youth, a national organization that promotes young people’s rights to sexual health information, says there are some concerns surrounding the app.“Especially for many younger women, their cycle isn’t exactly regular, so if you've got an irregular cycle or you really don’t understand the implications of using fertility awareness, it’s a tough method to use,” explains Deb Hauser. “It’s not by any means foolproof.”The Natural Cycles app costs for a year or a month. The free trial offer isn't really going to help you, because it takes a few months for the app to get to know your body. 1445

Three years ago, President Donald Trump used an expletive to describe NFL players participating in on-field protests against police brutality. Now, Trump said on Wednesday he would be supportive of Colin Kaepernick rejoining the NFL.Trump told WJLA-TV on Wednesday that “absolutely, he would” be supportive of Kapernick getting another shot in the NFL, assuming he can play well enough to earn a roster spot.“If he deserves it, he should,” Trump said. “If he has the playing ability. He started off great, and then he didn’t end up very great in terms of a player. He was terrific in his rookie year. I think he was very good in his second year. And then something happened. So his playing wasn’t up to snuff.“The answer is absolutely I would. As far as kneeling, I would love to see him get another shot. But obviously he has to be able to play well.”Trump has been harshly critical of players kneeling during the national anthem. He once said that the NFL should “Get that son of a b---- off the field right now” about players who kneel"It is about time that (NFL Commissioner) Roger Goodell of the NFL is finally demanding that all players STAND for our great National Anthem-RESPECT OUR COUNTRY," Trump said in a 2017 tweet.Kaepernick was among the first players to kneel during the national anthem in 2016 in hopes of bringing attention to the Black Lives Matter movement. Despite Kaepernick not getting re-signed in 2017, up to 200 NFL players participated in kneeling during the national anthem in 2017.Kaepernick later accused the league of collusion, and earned a settlement with the NFL for not getting signed. As tensions have grown in recent weeks since the death of George Floyd on Memorial Day, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed regret for being critical of the movement."We the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people," Goodell said. "Absolutely I would," support @Kaepernick7 getting a 2nd shot in the @NFL -- @POTUS in my interview today on racism, policing, statues & yes--sports. #ColinKaepernick pic.twitter.com/0B83cNbesW— Scott Thuman (@ScottThuman) June 17, 2020 2151

There's a new warning about makeup. A watchdog group says it has found asbestos in several products, sold in a store targeted to teens and young girls. What do you think of when you hear the word asbestos?“I think of like commercials like where your loved one has been exposed to asbestos and you die,” one woman says. “I'm like, 'Oh my God,' it's terrible.”Another woman said, “Like in a house that's like shut down forever” she says. “There's asbestos in a house.”You don't usually think of makeup.Danny Katz with U.S. PIRG, a consumer watchdog group said it tested more than a dozen make up products and found "high levels of asbestos" in three. They're all sold at Claire's, a store with products aimed toward girls and young women.“It's completely unacceptable to have asbestos in these products,” Katz says. “Asbestos if you inhale it or ingested it can lead to lung cancer it can lead to mesothelioma, which is cancer of the internal organs, and if you apply it over skin over time it can also increase the risk of skin cancer."Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that can be found in talc, a common product in many makeup products. But Katz says it's a company's responsibility to make sure the talc it uses hasn't been contaminated.“We need Claire's to remove these products from the shelves and we need them to figure out how asbestos got in their products to begin with,” Katz says. “We need Congress and the FDA to take action. We need to ban asbestos from beauty care products and makeup.”Right now, Katz and U.S. PIRG are urging us to avoid products with talc until federal laws change. It's not the first time Claire's has come under scrutiny for this. Just four months ago, Claire's pulled some items after independent lab tests found evidence of asbestos, then said its own initial testing found no problems.Regarding these latest allegations, Claire's released a statement saying,  1952
