DEL MAR (CNS) - A 4-year-old gelding died today during training at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the second horse lost during the 81st summer meet.Irreproachable suffered an unspecified injury this morning during a workout, according to Del Mar track spokesman Mac McBride. Cory Gardner, the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said Wednesday that Roy Moore, the Republican candidate for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat, should drop out of the special election if the allegations he had a sexual relationship with a teen girl are true.The Washington Post broke the story Wednesday that in 1979, Moore—then a 32-year-old district attorney—had a sexual encounter with a girl who was 14 years old at the time.The Post reported that after meeting the girl one day, Moore picked her up days later, took her to a wooded area, kissed her, removed his clothes, and touched her inappropriately.Three other women told The Post Moore had pursued them while he was in his 30s and they were between 16 and 18 years old, though they said no sexual contact occurred.Moore denied the allegations, calling them “completely false” and a “desperate political attack” by the Democratic Party and Washington Post. DENVER, Colo. -- President Trump recently approved changes to the Paycheck Protection Program to give small business owners more opportunities to qualify for loan forgiveness. Some owners say even with the changes, it’s still a long process to get their PPP loan forgiven.Gail Lindley is the 3rd generation in her family to run the Denver Bookbinding Company. “It’s more than a business, it’s truly our life blood,” Lindley said.The 91-year-old company received a Paycheck Protection Program loan that helped Lindley keep the lights on and employees working on the limited orders coming in.Now, Lindley is worried about the extensive requirements to make sure her loan is forgiven.“The bank told us, ‘You really need to document well,’” said Lindley.The PPP loan forgiveness application is 11 pages long and requires companies to document all spending on payroll, rent and utilities. Changes to the act were signed into law by President Trump on June 5. Companies must still prove they’ve retained workers and kept wages the same to earn full loan forgiveness.Consumer Bankers Association CEO, Richard Hunt, said documenting this is an unnecessary burden for small business owners.“Right now, small businesses across the country are spending about ,000 more more and 15 more hours submitting another application packet,” said Hunt. “We’re saying, just forgive all the loans under 0,000,” he said.Lindley believes automatic forgiveness would help people get back to work more quickly. “There’s only so many hours in a day, and I want to spend it working on my business not filling out forms,” she said.The Small Business Administration is requiring the most documentation for businesses who want full forgiveness. DEL MAR (KGTV) — For the first time, researchers set up receivers along San Diego coast with the ability to record when sharks are near. California State University Long Beach spent Wednesday working with Del Mar lifeguards as they dropped three receivers along the coast and tried tagging sharks nearby. Unfortunately, no sharks were tagged.Chris Lowe, with Shark Lab, tells 10News, “we just got money from the state to expand it throughout all of California.” They have receivers from Avila to the Mexico border but none located between Oceanside and La Jolla."This is a big gap for us,” Lowe says.Each receiver collects data from any tagged shark within 500 yards of the device. The receiver logs the time, date and is able to identify the exact shark based on the scanned tag.
