Police arrested a Gilbert, Arizona man accused of stealing nearly ,000 worth of items from Home Depot. Chandler (Arizona) Police report that from February 2012 to February 2018, Antoine Elkik, 57, made nearly ,000 by stealing goods from Home Depot stores in Maricopa County. Police say Elkik would legitimately purchase products, put them in his car, then immediately go back to the store with his receipt and select the same products and exit the store. If he were questioned, he would show the sales associate the receipt from the prior purchase. He would later, reportedly, return the stolen products to the store for a refund. Police say he purchased 402 items since 2012, returning all of them for refunds. Home Depot Organized Crime Investigators said, "Antoine was identified through analytical reporting in which he was showing a high amount of refunds." He was arrested on March 27 and has been charged with 30 counts of retail theft. 997

(KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's deputies Saturday were investigating a homicide at a North County apartment complex.Sheriff's deputies responded to the Sofi apartment complex on Midland Rd. at about 1:45 a.m., deputies said.Early Saturday morning, the San Diego Sheriff's Department received a call from Pomerado Hospital in Poway of a man who was brought in with a gunshot wound. Just after 3:00 a.m, Michael Walker died at the hospital.10News spoke to a neighbor, Christine Zobel. She was woken up at around 1:45 am after hearing commotion upstairs. "There was an altercation in the apartment on top of my children's room, and there was a gunshot that went through the wall and killed a man that was sleeping," Zobel said. Minutes after the shooting, Zobel saw Walker's wife drive him to the hospital. But he did not make it. "That could've gone through the floor and into my kids' room, or anybody around us could've been affected from this reckless event," Zobel said. Arizona:In Arizona, a lawsuit was filed Saturday night claiming poll workers incorrectly rejected votes processed on Election Day. On Sunday, ABC15 in Phoenix learned that one of the firms representing the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee in the suit, filed a notice of withdrawal of counsel. The judge would need to grant the withdrawal.No details were given why the law firm wants to withdraw from the lawsuit.An earlier lawsuit filed in Arizona, claiming the use of sharpies on Election Day ballots may have caused issues with ballots being properly counted, was dropped by the attorneys who filed it. On Saturday, the State received notice the lawyers had ended their case. No further explanation was given.Election officials had repeatedly said sharpie, or felt-tipped marker, use on ballots does not cause any issues with the ballot readers, and if it does bleed through the paper, the ballots are printed in a way so there is no issue on the other side.Arizona’s Secretary of State Katie Hobbs has repeatedly said she’s seen no evidence of voter fraud or irregularities in the state.In response to claims, without evidence, from President Trump, Hobbs said, “if that’s what he thinks, he doesn’t know what he is talking about. We have no irregularities, we have no fraud. This election is going exactly the way it is supposed to be going.”Hobbs said last week Arizona will not need to do a recount in the presidential race. Biden leads Trump in the state by just over 10,000 votes.A candidate can request a recount in Georgia if the margin is within .5 percent and only after the vote tallies are certified, which is expected by November 20.Pennsylvania:In Pennsylvania, a few lawsuits are still in the courts. One would require the Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar and all 67 counties to impose a Monday deadline to show proof of identification if it was not part of their initial ballot. All ballots that have supplemental identification provided after Monday will not be counted in the vote tally until this issue is approved by the court.Another lawsuit asks Montgomery County’s Board of Elections to stop counting mail-in ballots, alleging they counted 600 ballots that were not properly placed in secrecy sleeves.
