SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect who shot a man in City Heights Wednesday afternoon.According to San Diego Police, the man was shot in the back at the intersection of Fairmont Avenue and Thorn Street near Clark Middle School and Manzanita Canyon.The shooter left the area with two other men, according to San Diego Police officer Billy Hernandez. The three were described as Asian men, one in a white shirt with the letters "SD" on it in red printing, the others in black shirts, Hernandez said.Police shut down traffic near the shooting scene and searched the area with a helicopter and ground crews. Officers found a gun possibly connected to the case in an alley. There was no sign of the shooter.Paramedics took the shooting victim to the hospital. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after they say four teenagers were beaten, stabbed and robbed near a City Heights elementary school Saturday night.Police say the four teens were in a skate park near Cherokee Point Elementary School on the 3900 block of Landis Street when they were approached by a group of men.According to police, the man tried to start an argument, so then teens ran to a pedestrian bridge where another group of men was waiting for them.Police say the approximately 15 men punched and kicked all four victims and stole their cell phones and wallets.One of the victims was stabbed in the elbow and another was cut on the finger.One of the victims was taken to the hospital for his injuries, police say. Dozens of San Diego Residents in La Jolla and Del Mar took to Twitter after hearing the noise before 12:45 p.m. "Felt it in La Jolla / Windansea - even my dogs started barking," one Twitter user said, referring to the noise. Several people wondered whether or not an earthquake could be to blame, but according to the United States Geological Survey, the nearest earthquake was a 2.9 magnitude near Corona reported at 4:16 a.m. Wednesday. USGS' website states that, "reports of a bang are a clue that it's a sonic boom, but not an ironclad indicator since shallow earthquakes often sound like booms or bangs."10News has reached out to military officials to see whether or not military exercises may have caused the boom.The Marine Corps, however, did send a statement that reads, in part: "While we are aware of media reports of a possible sonic boom, no 3rd MAW units have reported one in San Diego air space.
