College enrollment is dropping sharply among high school seniors.A new report finds the number of students who immediately went on to college this year fell by nearly 22% on average.Breaking that down by area, under-served communities have been hit hardest, nearly a 30% drop for low-income high schools and 33% for high poverty high schools.The National College Attainment Network funded the research. Talk to the financial aid office about how your circumstances have changed.“This is all about making it an open conversation and reaching out to those supports and telling them you'd like to enroll and asking them to help you make that happen and what kind of options you have now,” said Cook.The data suggests that declining college enrollment will not only continue, but possibly get worse next fall.This time of year, current seniors should be focusing on keeping grades up and writing essays for applications. 1897

CONIFER, Colo. – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about leaving their cars unlocked after several incidents, including one caught on video, in which bears have gotten into vehicles.The sheriff’s office posted video on Facebook that showed deputies using a rope to open a car door in Conifer on Monday. A black bear then exits the car and runs off.The deputy recording the scene then shows the interior of the car, which was torn to shreds. The bear also left behind a half-eaten banana.The sheriff’s office said no humans or bears were hurt.  583

Frank Baum has several connections to the scenic beach city. Between 1904 to 1910, Baum and his family vacationed in the city often, according to San Diego's tourism website.Baum was reportedly such a fan of Coronado's beauty, he wrote a portion of the "Oz" series there.
